| I bought these the other day to complete a speeder missing it's gun and flaps, but they have turned out to be an odd set. The one on the left is a definitely vintage Star Wars, but the other flap and the gun are a dark browny colour and not black. Are these repro, variants or modern parts? " /> |

| The underside gun floats and both flaps sink. Wondering if they're from this version which appears to have very similar parts to an original. |

| this has been discussed here on Rs: http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1086085/ heres a comparrison pics of new vs old. same moulds used by the looks of it, just different colours . like your left one they are more brown in colour, so it could well be a modern gun and flap edit: it also looks like the clip that wraps around the bar on the bike is longer on the newer version and a slightly different shape. So maybe not quite the same sculpt and maybe a new mould used. |

| The one with long clip on my picture is an original flap, which differs from the supposed original flaps in the image above.
It does appear that the browny ones are modern though.

| hmmm so you believe the flap and gun to be different to known repros and the modern POTF toys, interesting  I also found these links on the subjects of speeder bike variations for you, hope they help, otherwise perhaps someone else like 'jimmymindtricks' or 'AJ' could chime in with more info.

| No, Chris. The browny coloured ones appear to be modern POTF, but the original that is in my photo (left) doesn't match the originals in the photo you posted. Those on the left above don't match my originals. |

| Sorry Andrew, yeah I see what you mean mate. The small part that sticks out to the side, at the top of the flap is a slightly different shape, compared to the pic of a vintage bike posted from RS. Here is a pic of my original flaps, one of which is the same coo as your original vintage. " /> " /> so i would say that your left flap is a definite vintage original, despite the slight difference in shape compared to the one taken from RS. This is probably due to there bieng more than one mould for the flaps, hence the different coos. And like with different coo figures, you get subtle sculpt variations. due to different moulds being used. The right flap and gun in your pic are most likely the modern POTF versions. |

| Thanks Chris. Bit disappointing as I bought them thinking they were vintage, but can't complain as I think I got a great deal overall. Thanks god the original one was a right flap as otherwise I'd be stuck with 5 original left flaps and only 1 right. Luckily now I have two complete speeders to go on display. Still stuck with two left flaps for my 3rd speeder. Swaps or two righties anyone. |
