Hi Guys -

I have had this strange C-3PO figure for awhile and I can't seem to figure out what he is or if he is even anything speacial at all

The 1st thing I noticed was his coo stamp is weird and alot feinter than typical c-3po coo stamps - almost on the verge of being a no coo type version . At first I wrote it off as being a "short shot" or some other molding type error but , after comparing him with a standard , more "normal" looking c-3po I noticed he has a few other sculpt differences .

The Head seems a bit wider / bigger .

There is not as many rings arround the circle on his stomach .

The circle (in the center) surrounded by the rings is larger and detailed differently .

There are a few other minor sculpt differences too but the previous ones are the ones that are most noticeable .

It reminds me more of a removable limbs version but the limbs are not removable

here are some pics (sorry for the shitty quality - I have a really hard time getting decent pics of c-3po's) :

Not sure what you have there?
I don't think that it's a fat head Ledy, because it doesn't have the screw in the back and the COO doesn't match either.
Could it just be malformed? I hope others chime in to help with this one.

First of all the COO is most likely a result of a short or poor shot in some way, as for the actual C-3PO himself, its simply a different sculpt. If you scutinize the vast majority of figures long and hard enough you'll will probably find slight sculpt differences, so quite obvious, some not so.
example: Bespin Luke (obviously Very Happy ) has two blatantly different sculpts, but close scutiny reveals actually three different sculpts used (see my guide)
Again, the tusken raider is an easy example at least in terms of his head, one with short eyes, one with long eyes, one with hollow cheeks.

To me, it's just a case of a different sculpt, why they used several sculpts is anyone's guess. Another key looking point is the neck which is entirely different.

Hope this helps chief.

I was actually thinking the Takara Sculpt. I'm looking at it on my mobile though so it might be a little hard to check it out .

Here's a shot of one I owned a while back
