Hey guys. I know its been awhile since Ive been on here, but alot has been going on for me these last 9 months. As I was talking about before, me and an old friend re-connected after 10-11 years and things were going great besides her being really sick. In Dec she had a feeding tube put in cause the doctors said it was her only choice left to do. She went from 139 lbs to 89 in a year cause of her sickness, which no one could tell her what it really was. They came up with all kinds of answers which none of them was it. So we were planning on getting a house together with her son to give us a new start together. So to say that went south on 2 houses. But the worst part is we finally found out what is wrong with her.

she was watching who the bleep did I marry? on tv one day and there was a case on about this woman who had every symptom she had. So to say she got real interested in this show cause of that. The woman was poisoned with arsenic come to find out. So Johnna went and had some tests run after we did some research on our own on arsenic. They say the normal amount your suppose to have in your body from every day intake of organic arsenic is around 50 micrograms. When her test results came back, a 24 hour urine test, there was 110 micrograms in it. There was no way she couldve got that from what she eats, shes a vegatarian. So we put 2 and 2 together and figured out where it came from. Yes it was an intentional poisoning and we have an idea who did it. So wendsday last week I took her to a specialist to get a hair test run and we are waiting to see what those results say. Never knew there was 2 types of arsenic out there until now. The only way she could have that much organic in her system is from a shit load of inorganic being givin to her. Sad thing is, after 17 months of dealing with this and no one really helping her medical wise, the doctors told her there may not be anything they can do for her now cause its been too long since her exposure to it. Its pretty much setting up in her organs, bones, and possible in her brain since the report we read said it goes to those areas on top of it could cause cancer in the long run. So yhea, Ive had a real good 9 months dealing with all this. The reality hasnt set in on her yet that all this has happened, so she went to her aunts house for awhile to deal with it all to get away from here since we didnt get the last house we tried for. I told her to go and get her head cleared and spend time with her son and call me when she gets back home. Its so bad that she has pretty much given up on everything cause of it and Ive been trying my best to stay strong for her, but I dont think the reality has set in on me yet either. Like I told her, I want to spend as much time with her and try to do the things we want to do before something does happen to her, but she stays weak and tired all the time she cant do much period. Yhea this is the woman Ive known for 28 years I was talking about before, for those who know what Im talking about.

Sorry for being gone so long, but I got other priorities going on right now that are way more important to me that I need to deal with. Until this is all resolved and taken care of, I might not be around much after this again. Im still trying to find a place for us, but its going to take awhile again until I can get the bank roll back up. Might be seeing the rest of the odd ball collection going up soon on here to help it along. But right now, my main concern is her health and seeing what they can actually do for her to try and get as much out of her system thats left in it. The doc she seen last week thinks its all out now and what shes dealing with is the side effects of it being there so long. I pray thats all it is and that its not really more in there and she starts to feel better soon. Its pretty much ruined any future she has and what we couldve had. But if its side effects, its worse than it was to begin with. So keep us all in your prayers that she does make a recovery from this as much as she can. We already know if they can get it out, they wont be able to get all of it. She never had medical problems until now. Shes now having heart problems, liver and kidneys were shutting down, but are working fine for now, etc.

Its insane to think that this shit actually goes on. You only see things like this on tv and never think it would actually happen to someone you know. But dont be fooled, we were and it can happen. We wont say who did it cause all the evidence is gone now and theres no real way of proving it, but she was only around this person who did do it, so thats the only way she couldve got it. You should see it when we go to the hospital or doctors office. They are like "This the guy you were around then?" I thought I was going to get slammed against the wall a few times couple weeks ago. But yhea, it can happen to anybody. Shes proof of that.

Bugger, that's not the post I was hoping to be reading. More along the lines of an open invite to a wedding would have been better. Head up- I know you're a tough nut. Fingers crossed for a good outcome/recovery for your mate.

That's a tough story, sorry to hear you've had this hell to deal with. You are both in my thoughts as she hopefully continues to get better.

Thanks guys from both of us. Believe me, its been pure hell for us right now. With everything going on I told her tonight just to stay at her aunts house for awhile to get her head clear and to look at whats in front of her. We finally got a doctor thats willing to try and do something for her and believes her. Im just terrified it might be too little, too late. I told her that dont regret yesterday, cherish today for we are not promised tomorrow. Thing is, she still lives in the past with what all shes been through and now this crap hits. I still havent accepted that thats whats wrong with her. You just dont want to think that a loved one will have shit like this happen to them, but it did.

AJ, wish it was a wedding invite, mate. But right now all she needs is a friend after all this and I told her thats exactly what Ive been, even though my feelings do run deeper than friends. Poor thing just doesnt trust people enough anymore period and its awesome to know that after 28 years we still have that bond like we do.

Jesse, we hope that she will recover some from this, but the outlook isnt all that great. If they dont do something soon after 17 months of it, there wont be anything they can do for her. Its almost too late now for it, but they are trying. Its just rough cause the reality is starting to sink in on her alittle every day and she deals with depression so as it is, so its not easy for either of us.

Ill keep you guys up to date on any news we hear. Shes calling tomorrow to see if the test results are back to see what they say about it. Thing is, they are all talking organic arsenic. Thats not what we are looking for. Its the inorganic type we are worried about. I think we finally got them convinced into looking for that now since it wont show up in blood or urine after this long period of time.

Im pretty much her life line as far as going to docs. Her family pretty much dont help her at all. Its pretty shitty if you ask me. When she had the feeding tube in, me and her son were the only ones who were helpoing her out for that month. If you knew how we were together, youd understand. Its like soul mates but a bit twisted. Ill explain that one later on.

Chris, I am so sorry to hearr you and your friend have to go through this horror story.

Chris, thats terrifying that someone she let close to her would do this.I'm sorry that you're both going thru this. I'm sure the authorities would be able to prosecute the scumbag, especially with it having gone on this long.I'd go to the state police if the locals are too lazy to do their jobs. Joe, she's talked to city, county, state, and the FBI and they pretty much keep sending her in circles with it. She finally got one that we went to school with that wants her to make a statement. She's waiting for the rest of her medical records and the test results to come in take down there. The only thing they will have is circumstantial evidence cause everything else is gone. All the items she had at his house are now gone, so there's nothing left. I told her they convicted on less before. So im pushing for her to try and press charges anyway.

Chris, sorry to hear about this mess. As you said yourself, you only see this on tv and don't believe this will actually happen in real life to someone you know. I can't believe someone would do such a thing to another person. Hopefully she can make a recovery and get back to a normal life.

Thanks Marco, tommy, and ozio. As far as a normal life, after this i doubt anything will ever be normal again. Just the fact it happened shows that nothing is normal period. Someone asked her the other day if she felt good. She told them its been 17 months since she ever felt that way she doesn't know what its like anymore. Its like when something seems to start getting better, something else pops up to kick that feeling out. Wouldn't be so bad if she wasn't weak all the time and got tired out so easy. She would feel a bit better then.

We do not know each other, Chris, but I guess we don't really need to in a situation such as this.
I'm sorry to hear of all that is going on in you and your friend's life.
Be strong for her but... be even stronger for yourself.

HAIR TEST UPDATE:

Just found out today that they cancelled the hair test they were suppose to do cause they didnt have enough hair to conduct the test. Really? Then why didnt someone tell us how many they needed to begin with to be able to run the test properly. Better yet, why didnt the doctor call back yesterday when he found out at lunchtime to say "Hey, you need to come back up here. They didnt have enough hairs to run the test right so we need to get X amount for them to do it again". Nothing, Johnna had to call the lab themselves to find out that they cancelled the test to start with. Another week of wasted time and bullshit from doctors here in Alabama. So people, dont ever come here if your sick cause they'll just wait around to see if you'll die first then try to help you.

ok just came back from seeing the doctor at uab and their not going to redo the test because they said they didnt know how to help me. They dont know how to treat arsenic poisoning. So if the largest hospital in Alabama doesnt know how to help me i dont know what else to say..

i dont know what else to say either with that.UAB is a teaching hospital and the last doctor we seen said there was a med they could give her that could help and now this?! Just dont know what to say about this place. DO NOT EVER COME TO ALABAMA IF YOUR SICK! Guess all the signs God has shown me over the past 10 months really shouldve been shown to her instead, but he knew i would tell her and let her think on it to make up her own mind

Back at the hospital since last night and they are running all kinds of tests this time to rule everything out. They are even redoing the hair and urine tests again this time. So hopefully we will know what really is going on this time around. All the blood tests came back fine, but they are checking for organ damage this round. Maybe by tomorrow afternoon we will know something that they can do to help out this time.

Me too. I think that they are finally listening to us about what we are saying. Been almost 20 months since she's been dealing with it, so its high time someone finds out something

so far nothing has come back. she is suppose to call next week to find out what the rest of the test results are, but right now shes doing fine, eating more cause everyones been telling her she needs to to build her body back up, and put it all in Gods hands now to see that she comes out of this fine and something shows up in the test results shes been waiting for for 19-20 months now, 10 months for me. thanks to everyone whos kept us in your thoughts and prayers. it is very appreciated from both of us.

Oh my god chris! I've been away as well and been catching up on the forum and I just read this post, I'm so sorry to hear this! I hold my thumbs for both of you.

I'm not sure how it works where you are, with health care. But here you can change hospitals. The hospital in my city sucks so hard it should not even be called a hospital.
As an example, I've cracked my foot, broken ribs(so you can more them around) and I'm pretty sure I broke my tailbone when we crashed with the boat a couple of years back. Nothing shows up on the x-ray and since they don't find anything they just assume there is no problems and send you home, then last year I met an old friend of mine and he told me really how bad this hospital is... he had complained a lot about his back, went to the hospital for 6 years and they couldn't find what was wrong. For 6 years!
Then a doctor told him to change hospital because they couldn't find out what it was, so he did. After he had x-rayed his back at the other hospital he asked the doctor if he found the problem? the doctor was like "what?? you don't know!" my buddy said no and the doctor started talking shit about this hospital and said that his back was broken and it was a miracle that he was not paralysed in his lower body, it was extremly close and his back was shorter because the skeleton had grinded away a good piece of his back. Of course it became emergency surgery.
So after learning that they can't even see if someones back is broken for 6 years I kind of understand why "nothing" have ever been wrong on me... anyway my point is, if one hospital can't do anything, then go to another if you can. Yours sounds like the one over here and it's important that your friend gets the best possible care even if it means to travel. Putting your fate in people that don't care or don't know is not a good option.

Rawlin, the hospitals here are the same way. its been almost 20 months and they still havent figured it out yet. they ran every test they could this time, even another hair test for arsenic. we are still waiting for the results from the rest of them now. its almost 2 weeks now and they called yesterday to say they still havent come back yet. so we really aint sure what all they are testing for really. no one said.

as for changing hospitals, UAB is the only one, they claim, that could run these tests. and with her primary doctor being there, for now, she has to go there. if she changes primary docs, she can go where ever she wants to. so shes talking about switching over to the guy i use so she will be closer to home.

Chris I haven't yet had the pleasure of meeting you or chatting to you but I do keep you guys in my prayers. I am sure your friend is very ill and feels like doing not much of anything and what she does do probably saps her energy rather quickly. I realy truly pray that they find the answer soon so she can get the help she needs. Keep up with the posting on here. Hopefully she may start getting better and better and then she can post her recovery story here. I know the guys from this board would like for her to be able to do that someday if for nothing else than to say she is healthy again and spirit filled. Wish you guys luck.

thanks Bryan. that means alot to us. Ill def keep everyone posted. I did have plans on doing a new thread here since i got the dev position back again, but with all thats been going on with her, i keep putting it off so i can make sure everything is top knotch for the site. i will not settle for second best when i do the threads. i refuse to. so until we get some answers and things go back to some what normal, ill keep working on what i got going on until i am completely 200000% satisfied with it all before i post it up.
