Hi all,

I would need a picture to see how Kenner made the landaning gear working on a Tatooine Skiff. I dont have a Skiff myself and cant find any pictures in the net.
So if you you have a picture from the opened underside that would be great!

I need it for a custom project of myself. I would like to built a similar landing gear for that, but I cant figure out how Kenner solved the problem that two "feet" move contrary as the one to the front while moved out with one hand gear :scratch:

Not quite sure Wolff and it's a shame as, although I don't have a Skiff I did have the POTF II version which was the same mold, and I'd have been quite happy to even take aa look in side, but unfortunately I'm in the process of selling all my modern stuff off to a friend and that was one of the first pieces he took
I can say that it wasn't the best mechanism, you used one of the levers on the deck and it brought down 2 legs from the back and 1 from the front, but they didn't stay in position unless you either put it on a hard surface or continued to hold the lever, if you let go then they began to retract back and quite significantly as well, not just a little bit, so obviously some spring mechanism being over worked???

thank you very much. Dont worry, I guess someone here certainly repaired one once (I hope at least). Of course pictures from the POTF2 would be also great.

I will improve it I guess. I often heard that the Tatooine Skiffs not working well within time...though.

I have mine sat on top a bunch of boxed up stuff at home, i'll see what I can figure out for you.

The Y-Wing has a similar mechanism. If it is of any use, I have a spare body that I could open up & photograph for you?

I had hoped that the patent would give detailed pics of the lever mechanism. But it doesn't.

Hi Wolff, I've taken the Y-Wing apart & am in the process of photographing the landing gear mechanism. (I believe some explanation will also be required).

If the pictures I post are not clear enough, I'll be happy to post the ship to you so that you can have it in hand & analyse the mechanism in person.

Back legs move vertically. As the lever is moved forward the pair of back legs are lowered.

The front leg swings down through 90 degrees as the arms attached to the lever move forward. The front leg is held in place by the yellowed plastic.
