Doing a little organizing and I had jumped on the computer and when I looked over this is what I saw so I grabbed the camera




My boys see allot of what I own and want to play desperately with the loose items. I've got caught up in the paranoid mindset, more than once, that they would melt the plastic with their eyes or the plastic would become brittle if they touched it so I'd be fast to say to them, 'No Guys' or 'Maybe later guys I'll let you play'. It made me very very happy to see and hear them making blaster noises playing with the AT-AT's or saying 'let's go get the droids' when playing with the Crawler.


Just felt like sharing a happy moment that involved 2 fans that are way way younger than any of us!!

I wish i had some pictures from my childhood when we played with our figures

My son is to young at the moment for the bigger stuff but I've mixed several beater figures in with his toys in the hope that he grows up liking star wars

Really nice pics mate, brought a smile to my face this morning when i saw them. My son is 4 yrs old and is already mad on star wars! He loves watching the original trilogy over and over again. He is also itching to get his hands on my collection and have everything down off the shelves to play with. I let him play with the At-At from time to time and some of my die cast vehicles, plus I've given him a few of my beaters. But i think i'll hold off letting him play with the sandcrawler for a couple of years yet

I've toyed with the idea of what to do with my collection of loose playsets and vehicles as i'm focused on collecting loose figures nowadays.

So seeing your original post, i'm keeping them in storage for my little trooper*

* OK I may keep the ewok battle wagon and the other POTF stuff to one side LOL!!

I had a very similiar story from the weekend.

My toy room is located in my basement next to my Girls (7 and 3) playroom. They know not to go into Daddy's room without him. But over the weekend I was working on something and left the door open. I came back down and heard some strange noises and thought what is that. As soon as I walked in my 3 year old slid the ISP-6 she was playing with under the shelf. In just a few minutes she had replaced vader in the cockpit with a stormtrooper, loaded up the imperial troop transport with figs, and re-arranged the death star playset to her liking. She also removed an ERG cape from the figure. I picked her up and as soon as I did I wished I would have taken a picture, so this post really hits home with me.
It was a nice reality check for me as well and cool to see her playing with the items like they should be,

No kids for me, they would interfere with my drinking! I have two nephews though who love Star Wars, and they can't be trusted! I've never shown them my toy's, the other day though while sorting through the attic I did give them a a Darth Vader mask and a model of a S.T.A.P with Battle Droid (1:6 Scale) the Droid lost both his arms in less than 5 minutes!

Where do you think my hands went after snapping that photo They did receive proper instruction on no opening the door, lowering the elevator or pushing...the non pushing idea had them back to the AT-AT's fast enough What the hell is the fun of a Crawler if it doesn't crawl along right?

The teaching of Respecting 'Collectables' has been ingrained in them for sure...but that does not mean I do not sound like a broken record with that respect lecture.

Right on man!!! It was great with their sound effects. Sometimes you get carried away with having selective hearing with your children and you may miss allot. When you stop and listen...and watch...it's awesome and funny as all heck Makes you stop and think 'Why do I take some things so seriously'

Thats great! Thanks for sharing. My 2 1/2 year old cant touch my Star Wars, He-Man or Voltron stuff till he is older. But he is perfectly content watching daddy sorting through everything and trying to put things back together. He actually sits down with me and watches.

Hey Jediscott I saw your other post and was going to say hey then someone grabbed my attention on fb, Yes...I mean no, 2 1/2 y/o no way man. The boys are limited to my 'Collectables' to say the least. A few minutes here and there, supervised for sure. Got to let them experience the toys to build the respect. If not, then it will make them hunt them down in the future just to satisfy that curiousity they have.
