| I don't know if any of you 'vape' or use an e-Cig or other device, but I have just started using one again after a couple of years off it to try to help curb and/or stop my smoking habit. I thankfully am already down to about 5 cigarettes a day but hope to go down to 2 or less and plan on using vaping as my helper. I am not a cold turkey kind of guy at all. Anyway... I use a Joy eGo 510 system and its great but I was looking at it and kept thinking about modding it to look like a lightsaber. But in thinking, modding an eCig wouldn't be smart since the system is designed to be replaced over time. So, I gave a better solution a shot by picking up a Master Replica .45 scale Luke Lightsaber from ANH (my favorite) and to much my surprise, it looked like it was almost made for the project. Within 30 minutes, I had gutted the saber and ground down the inside posts that hold the grips on and voila! I can get any 510 battery I have to slide down and then lock into place using the red push button which was threaded by MR (nothing else was threaded so I lucked out!). It holds my old 510 batteries, the new style ones (longer) that come with the eGo CC system and even the longer 650 mah eGo Twist battery! Here it is with the eGo Twist 650 mah inside: I am waiting for a few new clearomizers in yellow, green and blue. I think they will look funny as hell with the colored tips sticking out! I will also try to see if I can mod a clearomizer to hold a small LED inside that runs of the main battery. That would be uber-geeky! Anyway........... Anyone else vape? cheers!

| I don't use e-Cig's myself, but they clearly fit very well into the .45 sabers. I'll be interested to see what yours looks like with the appropriately coloured tips. The trouble is, if they look cool, you're likely to get a lot of positive comments. If that's the case, I don't think it will help you to quit. |

| That's awesome, glad to know it's your favourite saber, it's the best by far! I discovered the best method of stopping smoking ever, it's not cheap though (depending on taste) but probably cheaper in the long run. I should add that I was helped by my own body I used to go through stages when I smoked where it would just generally make me feel like shit, the last time this happened was about 5 years ago. This was right about the time I went to California, smoking was generally bringing me down and one night in San Francisco I got very drunk and woke up feeling like shit, having a smoke seemed stupid as it would (at this time) only make me feel worse so I didn't. How ever, several hours later I felt a lot better and after arriving on Alcatraz Island decided to have a cig while waiting for Mrs. kahn to have a piss. I smoked half of it, felt like shit and tossed the rest and continued with the rest of the day. I didn't smoke again that day. The next day we set out to Yosemite, this was a life long dream fufilled for me and the highlight of my holiday so I had no intention of feeling like shit while I was there, so I never smoked. When we arrived back in San Francisco it occured to me that I hadn't had a smoke in a week and not only that, but the last cig I had was on Alcatraz, I thought that's a good one to say so I tossed my tobacco and five years later I have still never had a single drag on anything sinve then So, go somewhere totally amazing, somewhere you'll probably never see again, have a smoke and then quit! Forever allowing you a boastful 'I quit smoking' story The feeling like shit bit really, really helped though. |

| Hey Alex, Yeah, the blue is great but I love the stupid yellow for the funny! And yes, on the bottom part, the button to start vaping works and since it is flush to the outer part of the saber, it protects against accidental button pushes so that's a bonus. I'll be hunting for a used Vader and ESB Luke ones for a good price to try to mod them too. cheers! |

| Hi all, first, I want to apologize for my English translator of google , but in English , I only see breaking bad with subtitles ... Secondly , introduce myself, my name is Fer and write from Zaragoza, Spain , I have 39 years and I mean that has impressed me a lot this work, which had long sought by Internet ago and had not found anything of this quality , just say that two days ago I bought a replica of Anakin episode three 'm already looking I get home to get the screwdriver ... but I have several questions to ask the teacher psybertech : - Seeing that put a ego battery, which has a diameter of 14 mm, has referred to the possibility of creating a real vape mod getting 3.7v 14500 battery , add the head and the back button of one of the many mods there market such as this that I also ordered yesterday fasttech 1490600. Honestly think this also has potential and could be feasible after this fantastic conceptual work you've had. Parts of the mod adds the possibility of giving a high length to this mod by the advantage of being able to replace the battery with a charged one in just two seconds apart from the increased power offered either a mod to an ego battery performance goes down in a couple of hours. - On the other hand , seeing the result I do not understand how you got the job, removing all accessories attached to the central tube ? had to force any parts ? in other similar internet job I have seen that although the end result is good, they have had to change many elements of the lightsaber and the result is less realistic , which is what I want. I guess if you had a step by step tutorial , you already would have shared here , but could you give a brief summary of the steps you followed ? - I wonder if in principle have to follow the same steps as you, considering that the saber is a slightly different model .
Well, after all this , thank you for your generosity again showing us this beauty . |

| Hello fer! Welcome to TIG! and thank you for the kind words on my VapeSaber! Unfortunately I didn't document the whole process. However, I know what I did and I will post what I did and the tools that were used when I get some time to find good pictures of an original saber and to photoshop my notes. I was going to post this all on ECF but I have too few posts to post in the main categories but I will post something there soon. For the most part, you just need small jewelers screwdrivers and a good sturdy forceps to pull the pieces that are not able to be removed using screws. Additionally you will need a drill with a large bit to grind down the inner posts holding the outside grips, but it literally takes 2 minutes to do. I am thinking about doing an ESB Luke and a Vader as well if I can get the sabers for a good price. I think the ESB Luke saber will be identical in process but the bolts holding the lower grips may be an issue depending on how much they go into the inside of the saber. But on this project, there will be more info to come I promise. Thanks again! I love vaping with it! #VapeSaber cheers! |

I'm anxious by having all your data, please if you open thread on another page, put a link here because I often go looking, thanks again and Happy Vaping |

| I just got an Luke ESB replica from eBay and I'm beyond ready to turn it into a vape mod!! I have only been able to take apart half of the stabilizing ring, and the small screw below it. I'm scared I'll damage it or something (It feels wrong butchering an authentic SW replica). There seem to be small pins attaching certain parts to the saber, like on the D-ring and behind the stabilizing ring. Any help would be appreciated, and since you wanted to build a Luke ESB mod, this might help you out too . I can post plenty of pictures if necessary. Thanks |

Hi there and . It has been a while since I did this, but if you post up some pictures of what you are stuck on, I think I can help. The only tools used were a small jewelers screwdriver and sturdy forceps (perhaps tiny needle nose pliers will work as well). Post up pics and I'll take a look. cheers! |

| Thanks for the reply! I wont be able to take pictures until tomorrow. I'm going to buy a jeweler's kit tomorrow as well. I don't see how that would help too much, it seems like the ESB saber uses pins similar to the ones that keep watch links in place. Do the saber knobs pop off easily with pliers? Maybe those are preventing me from yanking out the parts in the middle. |

| I guess I can't post links to pics until I've been a member for a week. But anyways, mainly I need to get the stabilizer ring off. It seems like the only way to do that is by breaking a pin in the back, but I don't think it'll go back together if I do that It looks like you were able to get the inner portion of your stabilizer ring off while leaving the sight portion intact. I'm not sure if the ANH lightsaber has a different ring or not tho |

| Hey,
I was wondering if instructions for this were ever posted on any forum?
I'm specifically interested in what the interior looked like when you pulled out the stuff and what bolts you had to drill out. |

| Well I know it's been quite some time since this was posted. But I recently saw this post come up on Google and inspired me to make my own! I have the same exact replica and vape. So far I've managed to get all the way to the metal weight thay seems to be logged inside the handle. Did you just drill through this or were you able to pull it out? I don't even see the posts that hold the grips on the end?
Love this idea so much and yours looks perfect! I would appreciate any insight you might have if you see this. |
