Okay here is the short story: My wife got a new job...very sudden...we had one week to totally change our lives! Now its up to moving. I decided to pack away first my collection and store it, before chaos is happening and the real moving is happening! Well we found our new apartement by now (lastet three weeks), but it's still 2 month before moving finally. My collection is packed and stored away now for three weeks! Maybe it sounds weired, but I miss my toys already. And it will last 2-3 month till unpacking???? WTH??? I cant stand this! ...not a good feeling at all! Is this normal??? I dont even have my references for buying new stuff!!! The only figures here are my latest buys (thanks Ozio, Lee and Kenneth)....so at least I have 5 figures to enjoy ...... Anyone else expierenced beeing "seperated" from their collection ever???

I know what you are going through. Back in 2008, I started to renovate my basement. Shortly after, my Crohns disease flared up and the next few years were filled with surgeries and infections. This has been the first full year that I have been healthy again. I have a goal of finishing the basement by christmas and getting my collection out on display again. It's been hard not knowing what I need or have. I feel your pain.

I know exactly how you feel Wolff. I just moved and my stuff is has been packed up for almost 3 weeks as well! It's driving me crazy. I've been assembling the rest of the house and the SW isn't the priority with the kids needing their stuff set up. Also problems with 3 appliances and the wife and kids have been sick! Did I mention someone in California stole my bank card number and racked up $1700 in fraudulent charges?!! My moving truck broke down 3 times on the interstate Oh, and the guy installing my internet drilled through the wrong wall and put a hole in my SW room and put his drill on 2 of my latest additions! :(It's been a bad string of luck to say the least. So I feel your pain buddy. I hope to get started setting up my SW stuff tonight or tomorrow night but it's a strain cleaning all the glass on my cases. Hope you get your stuff out soon and dont forget to update us Andy A

O I can totally relate Wolff, hopefully everything works out for you guys & you can get your stuff unpacked quickly! We were trying to sell our house a few years ago & I had to pack everything up. That was why I started my website, so I could still see my stuff!

| I'm a total obsessive type so I can't imagine not seeing my stuff everyday. When anything was in transit or at AFA I would get seriously on edge about it. So I hear you Wolff. At least on the bright side, you'll appreciate getting to see everything again when you unpack!
Andy - That's some bas streak man, hope it's behind you! |

We went through the ordeal of not only moving house but moving abroad. Thankfully all our belongings and my collectables made it safe on the cross channel journey, double boxed and with more bubble wrap than I'd ever seen in my life The move was made via shared consignment with other people - this meant that first our stuff had to sit in a warehouse in the UK for just over a week before being loaded onto a huge container truck which was to make drop offs starting in northern through to central France then to Italy then finally to where we are. All in all we were without our possessions for around twelve days. Being in a foreign country without my stuff I even doubted if I was ever a SW collector in the first place lol. It was weird being without it. Then when they finally arrived I unpacked it all and it felt like Christmas opening and seeing all my SW goodies once more Wolff - hope all goes well with your move! It's a good feeling to 'unpack' all your stuff Clint really glad you're health is back on the mend, and Andy hope you get a good turnaround on your luck

Ah great to hera from you again Ben. Thank you! Hey John...wow...you are really obsessive. I must say, I can wait for parcels, but I check out my collection also every day.....there is always sth for interest to open the drawers I can only imagine the bubble wrap I would use if I would move that far...and I cannot wait unpack it all again...which leads me to my next problem: too less space...wont be different in the next apartement Cheers Wolff

Great that your wife found a new job, Wolff. And I know how it feels to be separated from my collection, 50% of my collection is still in boxes and needs to be displayed properly one day. My own fault, some bad time management. Clint, I was touched by your story, good to hear you have conquered Crohns. Let's hope you will get that room ready on time and it will be a X-mas Star Wars for you. Andy, a guy drilling holes through your collectables, what a nightmare!!

I can feel your pain Wolff. In the process of having my new house built (and selling the old one), I boxed up my collection fairly early on. I didn't feel comfortable having my collection out while realtors were going to be bringing people through my old home, and it had to be done anyway so I just took extra time boxing things up and moving everything into storage *first* Unfortunately for me, the old house sold pretty quickly and there was a 4 month gap until my new one was ready to move in. I felt like I was missing a limb or something the whole time, but ... when that day came to finally start retrieving my collection from storage and setting up a display, it was like Christmas x1000. I was excited to have new (and bigger) space, I was excited to start unwrapping thing and setting them up. I'm not sure if it was worth it, but just had so much fun at the end of things I "guess" it was LOL Bill

I thought pretty similar Bill.....and I regret it already.....on the other hand the drill story and other things that can happen makes me feel Im doing the right thing! After all I see: 1. My "feelings" are not abnormal...LOL (Indeed they are....but lets say its not collector-abnormal! ) 2. I will have huge fun unpacking the stuff.....as I hoped

I totally understand your frustrations Wolff! Hopefully I can provide you with more figures, before you and Karin move! It will be so great for the both of you with a bigger apartment, but I'll be missing the charm of your cozy smaller apartment in Stuttgart! I'll be looking very much forward to visiting you and Karin again - maybe next year in the new apartment? Talk to you soon my friend!!
