Man this is getting out of control. Another attack down here already this year. I mean you wouldn't catch me surfing in a place where a monster Great White had been sited the previous 4 days, but still...poor bastard. I guess when your numbers up your numbers up. My second cousins best mate got chomped a couple of months back diving for Cray's, and I knew an Abalone diver through shelling that got nailed by two White's at the same time I don't know if it's overfishing, more people in the water or, people doing stupid shit. Probably a mixture of all 3 I guess. Anyway..would be a shit way to go.
Feel free to add anymore stuff like this or, wildlife stories in general. I know it's a bit dark, but I love hearing about stuff like this for some reason. And there are plenty of good stories that can be posted up also.

And then there are these madmen that dive with Nile Crocodiles

Insanity I tell you. Your balls would be made of steel to do that. Wouldn't need a weight belt that's for sure. If we don't here of one of those guys getting eaten soon I will be surprised. I saw a show a few eeks back with them in it also. They swam right into this crocodiles lair. Right at the back of this underwater tunnel is a 4 meter crocodile sitting there. They watch it for a bit and then it moves off and stirs up the water...couldn't see a thing. I would of been crapping myself at that stage. Balls of steel I tell yah.

Being attacked by a shark would be pretty bad but this would be even worse I don't know if you all heard of Timothy Treadwell and Amie Huguenard, Timothy Treadwell was an American bear enthusiast, environmentalist, amateur naturalist, eco-warrior and documentary film maker and on 6 Oct 2003 while they were sleeping in their tent a male Grizzly came in and killed them they were partily eatten a pilot who was supose to pick them up found the remaines and the vidio camera while it didn't see the attack it did record the attack, I heard this on the news documentary it was very disturbing you can hear tim trying to get the bear away from his girlfriend with no avail.
here is the audio of the attack.
Warning! Extremely Graphic and Disturbing Audio...

I better put that on later then when the kids aren't about
Heard about that guy though. Watched something on 60 mins about it I think. That would be ten times worse than a big Shark eating you, I reckon.

They got this monster last year in the Philippines. It had eaten a couple of people in the area and had to be relocated. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/jul/01/giant-crocodile-lolong-breaks-record Officially the largest in captivity @ 6.17 meters. A fooking monster I think you would agree.

Thats terrible news regarding the shark attacks and the bear attackes etc. What a horrible way to go. Its as simple as this for me as far as sharks go. STAY OUT OF THE WATER. If there are great white sharks potentially in an area then it should be declared a NO GO zone. Possibly some people get a thrill from the danger of it all. The sad thing is if you end up coming face to face with a shark then there is only ever going to be one winner. So sad. When I watched Jaws for the first time away back then I knew from an early age to never go near the water.

They aren't all as big as Jaws though, Grunter But I know what you mean. ALIEN put me off being an astronaut for life. I just think a shark can't be blamed for eating someone if it has been sighted in the same area, 4 days in a row. Not to mention had been given a nickname of Brutus. You would have to have rocks in your head to temp fate like that. Apparently only hours after it happened people were surfing agian in the area, with the warning signs still up. Sure, their chances of getting bit by the same shark are slim just after a big feed...but still. Fuck that

Hey Josh
LOL I agree after seeing Aliens I didnt want to be an Astronaught either.
I dont blame the sharks or bears for eating people. I blame the people for being so STUPID for putting them selves in that situation in the first place where these things like this could happen. I still feel sympathy for them people but ....
Regards
Grant.

Leopard mauls croc keeper to death in China zoo
Beijing, July 19, 2012, (IANS):
A crocodile keeper in a China zoo was Thursday mauled to death by a leopard, a media report said.
The animal attacked the breeder at the Nanping Jiufeng Mountain Zoo in Nanping city of the southeast province of Fujian, when the man opened the cage in the morning, the Shanghai Daily reported.
The man was bitten in his neck and died on the spot.
The victim, whose name was not disclosed, was the zoo's crocodile keeper and was told to substitute for the leopard keeper who did not report for duty Thursday.
The leopard was shot with an anaesthetic gun in order to calm it down. Operations at the zoo were suspended. No visitors were injured.

DONT RUN FROM BEARS are you mad. Iv heard as long as you keep changing direction whilst your running away from the Bear that you stand a chance of getting away OR not getting eaten right away. Same as the shark thing, try your best to stay away from their habitat OR run the risk of being eaten for lunch.

Oh I've heard lots of stories about bears, and how to avoid getting your ass mauled..... Seriously, do NOT lay down on the ground and pretend you're dead..... Do NOT climb a tree.... If it's a "man-sized" bear,(as big as they are in my part of the country) make yourself as big as you can and scream, make more noise than the bear itself, be more threatening than the bear, and he will lose interest. If it's bigger than you, chances are you are fucked, unless you have food of some sorts that smells, to throw at the bear...

Other tricks for encounters with Bears that want to eat you....In no particular order
1. Throw a Salmon at it, if you happen to have one handy whilst out hiking. 2. Feed the nearest person you don't like too it instead, and GTFO of there. 3. Shoot the bastard if you're packing. 4. Assume the airline crash position, and kiss your ass goodbye
Whatever you do...DO NOT MENTION Goldilocks They will spoon you like a bulldog eating a bowl of porridge.

Actually according to the NPS (U.S. National Park service) you aren't supposed to run other wise something in their mind clicks and they automatically think prey. For black bears your supposed to stand your ground and fight them off. If a grizzly charges you your suppose to stand your ground as well. Personally I think if a bear decides your food your fucked.
