It's been offered and I figured that I'd put it to you guys to decide. Personally I think that we don't need it, as the sales will get more exposure in the regular classifieds section, and any pre sales or non public sales...we have other means for that.

I think it would be a good idea to do it. Main reason is, the ones who would be looking for them, know where to go to look. That way, they wouldnt get mixed in with the regular classys and get lost in the mix. And like you said, theres always other means for sales for them.

My vote is a big NO. There aren't that many classified posts on TIG for it to get lost and the posts would get way less views and thus have way less of a chance of selling. Heck, the first page has a post that's over a month old that has never been bumped.

Yeah I'm with Trevor - it would just clutter things up. I think most of the bootleggers check the classifieds regularly enough that they wont miss anything bootleg related on sale.

i like the classifieds being all mixed up.. gives it a bit of a convention feel
with the *great* added bonus of having only vintage star wars related goodies

i wish real conventions would do the same actually

as far as TIG is not really THE place to sell I'd say NO. If it becomes crowded-maybe. Unfortunately most items marked (sold) did sell on other forums. I was never able to move one item here so far... So i will use Rs for buying selling only but wont take part in any knowlefe transfer anymore..

My personal opinion is no as well. I like the variety in the classifieds. It's fun to see what's for sale.

As an admin, I want people checking out the whole forum, so I'd like to see the classifieds be a mesh.

...BUT we could do a thread here with all bootleg maniacs posting their WTB stuff in one thread.

So one thread to check who is looking for what.........sounds good??

I can't belive you guys don't want your own classys section. I'm really surprised by the negative reaction.........sort of. I think it's a super idea. Yeah the traffic would be less for it. but at least we'd have a spot for bootleggers to see what we have for sale. But do as you wish. The majority rules.

a separate wanted section . I also like the
mesh of all vintage for sale it keeps things
fun.

Most bootlegs go under the radar and dont end up in FS threads.....especially the rare and sought after ones.

A WTB thread from all of us would help us to know what our friends are looking for!!!! Thats most important these days I think!

I think it would be kind of cool to have our own little dedicated bootleg store. Not to exclude the other channels - but to filter for those of us a bit more focused on the boot community. Alerts and such. Just my 2 cents.

I think most of us who are into collecting bootlegs know of upcoming bootleg sales even before they are posted publicly on a forum. Its a pretty small group we have collecting these things.

The classifieds section here is pretty sparse as it is, having a whole separate section is just going to add unnecessary clutter. I would much rather have a more vibrant vintage classified section with a nice mix of things, as others have mentioned.

Concerning a WTB bootleg thread - I suppose that would work in one of the bootleg sections. But then again, its just as easy to put a WTB thread in the general section. I personally like keeping things simple.

Seriously though - a separate bootleg classifieds wont get the needed exposure to infect new blood. We all know we have other means to get sales info out to members before hitting the general public.

Yep, the decision has been made..... yes to the want list section for us being in our section, and no to our own classifieds as we need to draw new people into the cult of the almighty bootleg.
