There seems to be more figures with 3 moulds, if they traveled in pairs..... ?
Lee has neat picture of an army of no CoO snags.

I task you to locate said picture AJ, I'd love to see it! Smile

Can you elaborate what you mean with the first bit above, about travelling in pairs?

cheers

http://swspaceclub.com/wbobafett/a-guide-to-loose-figures/introduction-coos/
The 'theory' is the CoOs that are very similar ie. '1' of 1977 is inline or slightly out of line with the '9' etc are the same 'variant'. So figures were produced on a double production line or there was a back-up mould. But there seem to be a few figures with 3 versions, so there is either a missing version to make 2 pairs or some figures had 3 moulds.

NO COO PBP/EURO FULL SCAR

The first two on the left are the most common found with crimson coloured bodies and soft limbs
and light grey heads/dull black hair. They have thin pinkish painted lips. You will notice that these
two examples have painted and unpainted cuffs. I have found this variant mostly in the UK.

The second two on the right have the bright red bodies and limbs. The limbs are generally harder
and more detailed also on this figure, although you can get mixed soft/hard limbs on this figure
(as per other figures) The lips are much thicker and darker painted and the heads are darker grey
and also with black glossy painted hair. This variant i have seen in the UK, France and Germany.
Worth noting is the two head colours which are different shades of dark grey.

HALF SCAR X2 / HARD TORSO / NO MARKINGS

The first two on the left have the half scar coo remaining. They share the same characteristics
as the first two in the top picture paint and app wise and i have only ever found this variant in the UK.
You will notice with and without painted cuffs.

The next figure along is very similar to the top two fat lips and hard limbs variants but there are some small
and maybe unique differences. The torso is harder - he has all hard limbs and different colour and thinner
painted lips to my other two similar examples. This figure was either French or German purchased unsure

The figure on the far right is the 'no markings' coo variant. He has tiny remnants under close scrutiny of
a HK coo and visually looks like that that variation. This figure has been called a possible meccano variant
within inner variant circles for many years - that could well be the case - anyone else have this variant
and where did you find him? Notice the factory error unpainted toes Wink

Regarding belt buckle colours, you can sometimes see silvery/grey coloured. My belief is that white was always
the intended factory colour and any greyish colour is a result of mixing/blending with the black of the belt itself.
Would like to hear other opinions...

I've just had a look at my made in Spain snag on page 1 and it has the 7th figure from left to right in Lees picture. (Hard torso, hard limbs, darker plastic and a good paint job) the same as 3 but a better worker at PBP that day?
5 was a right pain for me to find to and I got it from Soren eventually that he found locally in a child hood collection with card backs, only snag card was a MIS

Anyone know if the MIS cantina alien MOCs where made for the Euro market or where they on sale at the time in the US?
