I'm on my mobile, but I have to say it looks good to me from a distance. Is there the cross hatch pattern? Any concerns?

It looks good to me from what I know the cape is suppose to match the figure colour which it looks like it does to me. I would say your good I am sure that one of the guys here who has one will chime in.

yes cape has a crosshatch pattern on it , smooth inside . its the figure that concerns me . the eyes arent close together and the coo looks off , were they released with the hong kong higher than the date stamp ?? also the blue gun as ive heard they were only released with black

It is not the mould family (bandolier type) normally associated with the VC.

IMO you want to match the cape up to a figure that has ALL these things: 'big eyes' either leg marking where Hong Kong is closer to his foot than the copyright symbol and this Bandolier pattern ( the stonehenge thing- three uprights with a top, the middle upright it slimmer )

the cape looks good though and matches the signs ive read about . im pretty confused as why a legit cape would end up on a figure like this ?? there is a vc jawa on ebay right now without a cape that I will try to win to match the cape its just that I don't feel for the money I spent I should have to do this   man this sucks I wonder how the figure got switched

Legit capes get swapped around, it was common practice to 'upgrade' figures into capes. I found my TT cape on Leia Hoth!!!

the cape matches all criteria , crosshatch pattern , pointed corners at bottom , smooth inside , quarter inch from bottom of figure(approx.), tight armhole fit . I have seen that sigt before and was the one I referenced before making the purchase............ thanks for the glasslite leia off ebay chicken!!!!

Tricky question for me because it's in my nature to always doubt what i think i know , judging by my own collection of loose vcj's and online pictures of carded examples it should be the figure in your picture with coo 1a or 1b on wolff's coo guidehttp://swspaceclub.com/wbobafett/coo-guide-3-0/anh/jawa/#a. but to be honest i have not seen enough carded vc jawas in hand to be absolutely sure the other figures never appeared with a vinyl cape and i highly doubt that the people that have actually had enough of them in hand (like graders working for AFA) are even aware of the subtle differences between the different mould families. This first shot http://theswca.com/index.php?action=disp_item&item_id=73129 suggests that coo family II figures were around when Kenner made the switch from no cape to vinyl cape and here's an example of an AFA graded moc that makes me doubt what i thought i knew about vc jawas http://forum.rebelscum.com/photogallery/data/500/medium/image2049.jpg http://forum.rebelscum.com/photogallery/data/500/medium/image2050.jpg http://forum.rebelscum.com/photogallery/data/500/medium/image2048.jpg http://forum.rebelscum.com/photogallery/data/500/medium/image2051.jpg It's hard to tell from the pictures but the eye paint and thumb make it look more like a coo family III figure and the blister flange is much larger than it should be http://web.ncf.ca/cn333/vcjawa.htm Value wise it really doesn't matter what figure the cape is on, you are paying for the vinyl jawa cape so as long as the cape is legit it's worth the price you pay. If the figure is correct or not really depends on how you collect, for minty high grade AFA pieces the correct figure is the mintiest possible figure as long as it's not the no coo version and if you try to keep it historicly correct based on the majority of information that's available online coo family I is the best way to go. |
