| German vintage 8 inch Chewbacca. Most likely a cheap give-away/ carneval toy...Not THAT cheap today as its the only one known so far (together with Joes C-3PO). Something to work on for some Chewy Focus Collectors :-) |

| no picture at hand but I got one of these as well: an "ORITET" At At Driver Intersting information is, that there is a paper on the back in russian language. Firts valuable information is, that the Name of the company is ORITET. So we have a name for this mini series. Also, a number is printed that is appearently the date of production and its 94! This is in line with the very late release of the star wars movies in russia. Its not proven for sure but it seems as if these at at drivers are not really vintage or at least the latest vintage figures around. Shortly after the pof 2 release the company may have switched to the newer potf2 figures. The company logo is the same on the vintage and the modern russian bootlegs. My guess is, that is was just the very same company, starting with a copy of a vintage figure and changing to a modern figure as they were realeased... |

| as said, it is not 100% sure that the number on the back is the date-it could be something else but as far as I know these turned up pretty late, one day I might check Chris G's scrapbook to see when these turned up for sale. But in the Soviet Union Star Wars was not released until 1991 so it would make sense. Also, it is reasonable that the time perios between the Oritet At At Drivers and the Oritet potf2 boots was not 3 years...I know there is a guy who knows everything about the background but he wanted to write it down before he released the info. No, its not Joe, but he might know the details as well? |

| Actually Gonzalo is the man to talk to about the Russians... He has a taped interview with the bootleggers that made these, that he did when he was in Russia for work. Way more detailed info than you or I have Mike. Everything you posted is absolutely spot on about them.
Cheers Joe |

| Gonz does have some amazing information regarding this company. I've also heard from another Russian source that these AtAt Drivers first started to appear around 1990, this is when Star Wars was first released in Russia (yea, they were a little late, lol), anyway, this was about the time they realeased the Russian "Puma Head" and "Cantina" posters. The POTF2 figures obviousely came after the mid 90's but I'll let Gonz explain all that when he feels is the time.
Joe, I heard that there was also a "red card" AtAt Leader?? Do you know anything about this? |

| I am working on Gonzo for a year to publish his infos but he wont. Asked him again today but he says he wont publish anything yet but would let me know Its a pitty as many peole would like to learn from his experience. Same applies to Yanice who was the one who brought the Uzay molds to the us- he must have valuable info to share as he obviously got in direct touch with people that were connected to the Uzay production as well- he wont share as well... |

| and one russian question to joe: Gonzales said he never had a green bossk- so he is not the only source of the potf2 boots. As u have one carded- do u have any additional info on these by your source? It seems ultra rare, how many have turned up? |

| The one that I had and stupidly traded to Alvarez came from Bobby Sharp, he got it from someone he knew that was going to school here in the US, from Russia. I got it from him at either C2 or C3(Cant remember) I'd imagine that the Green ones were earlier, and they decided to make him a bit more colorful later in the line.

| There is also the orange Bossk, not sure when that was released to the pink and green one. I have a pic of one but it's not from my collection. I'll see if I can crop it and post it anyway later today. |

| Here are a few Japanese knockoffs I've tracked down. First up a set of erasers with some familiar looking characters and ships. Second, a game of chance card sheet. Next a horse racing game. And saving the best for last, STICK BANG! |

| Those erasers and horse racing game are great. If you come across extras of either....let me know(plea$e). AND when I get to the Japanese section of the articles that I plan on doing(all in due time...first up is the Uzay article revamp that's about 80% done), I'd love to be able to use pics of these in it (if I haven't found sets of my own by then)

| My contribution takes us away from the Russian front for a bit and routes us to a subject near and dear to my heart; combining my Stormtrooper focus and my bootleg focus. We have the fantastic Hong Kong released Horikawa knock off Martian Attacker robots. I don't have a lot of background information on these, though a good deal seem to be produced by a company called Amico. There are many different variations of these with at least two different head sculpts and a variety of color variations with the doors, the body, and the paint. They show up from time to time and tend to not be too expensive. Condition is key though as they are made of flimsy plastic. They are supposed to work but I can honestly say I've never actually tried any of these. Here's what I've been able to assemble so far. Don who remembers a more extensive guide to these published at one point, but I can't seem to find it at the moment. |

| The robots and boxes are generally around 11 to 11 1/2 inches high. Most of the robots fit on the box fine, but there are some where it's a pretty tight fit. |

Is this yours? I see you mention Joe with a 3PO. Did you guys spilt up the two that Wolfgang had? I'd tried several times to get him to sell but he wouldn't even comment on them. LOL I'd love to track these down one day... even if I am sort of out. John |

John Hey John, nice to see you back from the graves! As far as Michael told me BOTH figures from the archive are now in JoeYs collection. I talked long about those figures with Michael, and we agreed that these two and my two are the only ones known yet! The post from Michal can be missunderstood I agree, thats why I asked him the same question. I like to tease...thats why I post the picture again I promise to keep my eyes open on german fleamarkets! I will sure let you know when I find spare ones Regards Wolff |

| Hey all - not sure if this is the right spot to post this - I'm still quite a newb here - but what do folks think of these guys that have been popping up on ebay from time to time - and quite a few recently? The seller links to this at swca: theswca.com/images-boots/russian-potf2.html which is fine, BUT my concern is that seems to have multiples. he claims it's new old stock but you never know. Any opinions? |
