Damn, this sucks. I'm 37 and grew up listening to these guys and have seen them live twice (amazing!). Ugh, I never knew he had cancer. Sad to see the end of the Beasties (at least in their original form). R.I.P. MCA!

I just heard this news too. RIP Adam, a very talented guy. Only 47 too. When they broke in 1985 lots of people wrote them off as a joke, but the Beasties went on to become multi-talented music/video artists who wrote and performed all their own music. Pat you were lucky to see them live twice as they were a band I never got round to seeing Sad

Just seen that on Yahoo. I loved the Beasties in the 80s. Theres nothing like Brass Monkey, Paul Revere, No Sleep Till Brooklyn, and Ryhmin and Stealin. I jammed those in my 79 Trans Am with 2 10" and 2 15" speakers. Ah the good old days. RIP MCA!

I have only read about the epic Reading Festivals. I have a bootleg of Nirvana playing there. Was this the show where the Beasties & Prodigy were "fighting"?

Yup, very sad! Some great memories back in 1986 when I was a Freshman in High School, getting wasted with friends on cheap beer while cranking License To Ill...
