| A recent addition to my collection. I snagged the four Vader/Stormtrooper related cups, on the right, off eBay and the seller threw in three more: Somewhere I have the R2-D2 and C-3PO cup from this series that I got brand new in the summer of 1978. |

| These are plastic collector cups that you bought with a Slurpee/Slushie/Icee/Coke/Whatever at the corner convenience store during those wonderful summers of 1977-78. In my first post I couldn't remember 100% what year I got them but the copyright date is 1977. My memory is that I got it in 1977 but so many of the Star Wars collectables that I remember being available in '77 are dated 1978 or later so I always suspect whatever my brain is telling me. Here is the C-3PO cup I was talking about that I got when I was a kid along with two other, different, Vader cups I have. These are from the same series of 8 cups: Here is the back of the Vader cup. C-3PO was number 5 of the set and the Vader/Kenobi duel is number 8: I had thought that the ones from eBay were from the same set as my old C-3PO cup but the numbering on the back shows that they are from a set of 20. They are all 13cm tall but my old C-3PO cup is 8cm wide at the mouth while the two Darth Vader cups from the same series are 9cm wide so they obviously come from a different allotment. The cups in the set of 20 are also 8cm wide at the top. I also had another set of similar plastic cups from 1977-78ish of Marvel Comics Superheroes (haven't been able to track them down yet). They did a different hero each week and that summer in our area they were rerunning the old 1960's Marvel cartoons which made them particularly timely. I never got anywhere near the entire set but I know I had the Captain America cup because he was my favorite and I remember having Spiderman, Thor, several of the Fantastic Four, Falcon, the Hulk, and The Avengers. They had a bunch of characters I had never heard of at the time and a lot I didn't like. I remember being particularly frustrated when the week's cup was Prince Namor because I couldn't stand that character and it seemed like the store we went to never got rid of him so when you went back you gambled between getting the new hero cup for the week or yet another Namor . |

| Great set of drinking containers Dave. Thanks for sharing Your're right, your 1st pic is from the 1977 release, the Coke/Koolee numbered set of 20. And your 2nd pic is from the '77 Coke numbered series set of 8 (these came in 2 different sizes - 7-11 or Frozen Coke). I will add these pics to the new reference thread just made |

| Interesting, that explains why I have them in two different sizes! I suspected the size difference might be something regional or related to whichever chain of stores sold them (the cup holders on their machines take a different size cup or whatever).
If you want close ups or better pics I'll be happy to provide them. |

| Cheers Dave, some new shots will be great to show the artwork details better. You don't have to do them all individual - group shots are fine. Is there anything on the backs of the cups that come from the set of 20, or are they all repeat designs of the front? |

| Sure thing I'll post some new shots over in the cups and glasses thread. All of the cups have a picture on the front and text on the back. |

| Sadly, I no longer have them, and don't even have any images, but years ago I had a couple of smaller plastic cups from Peperage Farm.
They had Return of the Jedi scenes and graphics on them. Anyone else have these?
I also have a complete series of the Burger King glasses. All four from Star Wars, Empire and Jedi. |
