I forgot all about this.... I dug this up after getting my red bar recently. I spotted carded examples of the R5-D4 with the extra red bar! At least on some ROTJ 77A card backs with HG factory code: This was AFA (#12616108) graded and stated as 77A (on Brians Toys): Another example with closeup and back photo (theepictoycompany): I'm pretty sure this is him too (Final Frontier): cheers!

Finally some MOC pics! Well done Jay, that at least gives a possible time line and origin. Possibly a later variant then?

Nice find Chop-Chop!, So it's seriously looking like this is a 77athing, I am going to assume the normal version can also be found on a 77A as well as this was a very coomon card where as this is not a common figure.... Anyone got a 77A with the standard R5? Also, R5 appeared on the 79B card so it would be nice to see if he appeared on that card as well.
