| Didn't Joe decide to go on a a sabbitical leave for half a year till things had cleared up a bit at TIG?
I remember him announcing this in one of Hutthunter's threads.
I hope Joe will return a bit sooner though.

| Im am pretty sure Joe announced it in this thread: http://www.imperialgunneryforum.com/t3642p15-my-ree-yees-focus Some posts have been deleted however, so maybe also Joe's. On Joe's profile you can read: "This member is banned until Mon Jul 23, 2012 7:30 pm For the reason : User Requested" http://www.imperialgunneryforum.com/u8 New information for me as well. I am sure one of the mods can clarify a bit. |

| It was a self asked for ban. There was just way too much bullshit going on here that he got tired of, mainly with hutthunter and how some were acting. And all the posts in huttys ReeYees limelight was deleted up to that point. Joes wasnt the only post that was deleted out of it. Mine and a couple others were to. Joes more on RS and SWFUK right now, but he will be back. Ive talked to him a couple times since he asked for the ban and its all good with him. He asked for the ban mainly so he couldnt come here and read any of the posts. Hope that clears some of it up. |

| Joe got fed up with all the crap going on with all the stupid variant threads. Basically the rudeness of the jackasses asking questions about figures that are just discolored. When we wouldn't blow smoke up their asses and tell them they had nice cool figures that no one else had ever discovered they would get all pissy and rude. And Huttfucker, sorry, Hutthunter was one of the worst offenders in that regard. So Joe decided to take a break. The ban is self imposed. He asked for it to be put in place. I think jhe asked for it just so he wouldn't be tempted to return and such.
I miss Joe too. and wish maybe he'd reconsider. Things have really calmed down since the Huttfucker has been gone. Part of that is the new FOTW threads that Chris J is looking after. We're finally getting back to having fun again.

| Well Joe was of the oldies that took care off me when i first siged up here .( As did you Chris ) And there has just been missing here then it hit me . Where is Joe ? . Any way i can hear that you all had fun fighting with mr. HH i left him for dead after he tryed to sell me some moc's and had that thing with Funkstar . But i can't understand why the admins deleted some post here . Thats how rumers start . Bad idea . Indsted they shuld have kicked off the guy who was making all the noise . Then we might not have lost a HUGE asset to this site . I feel very sad abot that . Come back Joe |

| Soren, I seriously dont think its going to happen. Yhea, he's missed, a great asset and friend, but I just dont see him coming back even after his ban is over. Theres other factors contributing to his decision whether he does or doesnt. I know part of it, but not all.
As for the posts that got deleted, well, honestly they shouldve been. Things were said that rang true, but it didnt really help the situation none in solving the problem at hand. Only time will tell in anything we do to help solve those problems that have been going on at the time. All we can do is do our part so a situation like that doesnt happen again and another assest to the hobby doesnt decide to do the same thing. |

It's sad for me because I joined up here a little over a year ago, because of Joe O. Amazing how things can change that much in 12 months. Something is seriously frigged up if he'd rather hang out on RS. |

| Somehow I missed all of the great Hutthunter debacle, but I also didn't know it had caused Joe_O to leave. That totally bums me out. Joe is a HUGE asset to this community. And his hard work on the Tri-Logo site is amazing. It got me totally into Tri-Logos, and he was always more than willing to answer questions from a Tri-Noob like me. Lets start a "JOE_O, COME BACK" campaign. Like We Are The World, except for Joe. I'll be Stevie Wonder. Paul can be Diana Ross, and Chris could be Bruce Springsteen. |

| Always a shame when a well liked person who contributes so much to the hobby disappears. Although I'm sure that a fair few of you who know Joe are on RS or SWFUK so its not like he isnt contactable.
I missed the whole debacle and can't really make out what happened from the thread. Shame that the discussion had to be sensored but seems like it turned into a bit of a train wreck so maybe it was the best way to deal with it.
Variant talk can and frequently does get out of hand. Thats maybe why variant talk is not cared for that much over on the other boards. I don't mind a bit of variant talk myself but not to the extreme that some others take it. Each to there own though and I have great respect for the hardcore variant collectors - they have taught me a lot. Its the over opininated collectors that are disrespectful of others collecting habits that i have no time for.
Despite all the conversations and debates on what constitutes a variant; what is discolouration; what is factory error; determining origin of a figure from its COO or naming a figure based on origin of manufacture or cardback. A lot of it (not all) is based on opinions. There is no governing body that decides who is right or whether a definition is correct or how something should be named or labelled. Answers are not always set in stone. Just because a couple of guys on TIG or RS come to a conclusion about something doesn't mean that the rest of the collecting community outside of the forum will adopt the same thoughts or practices. I think it helps to be mindful of this and to be tollerant and respectfull other people's views and opinions - even if you think (or know) they are proven to be wrong. Sometimes if you dont agree its easier just to walk away rather than have the last word - it certainly helps keep the peace. |

| Joe leaving has nothing to do with this thread that disapeared or Hutthunter alone!
It was not "one" reason, post, argument, thread, comment etc......it was the mass of unnecessary threads and people dont listening, reading, searching!
It was a process over a long time period.....which lots of us can feel....named: just annopying and frustrating to come here to read and comment....thats all! |

| I talk to him on FB and mentioned the thread. Since his account is banned for now, he cant log in to read it, so I gave him the run down on whats been said. But with Wolff said, theres other factors that made him want to take a break from here. I wont give out details cause its not my place to say, but there was more to it that what me and Wolff have said here. Another thing that Wolff didnt mention was the disrespect that was being thrown around the last few months. Ive said it before, but I was thinking of giving it up myself. Only thing that kept me around was the friends I made here I like chatting and posting with. And that includes both older and newer guys. Anyway, the only way you'll be able to get ahold of Joe from now on is either SWFUK or RS. |

| I also rate Joe O highly and miss him tons around here. When I first signed up at TIG, Joe was one of the first to really make me feel welcome. Aside from Star Wars we also clicked on music (we're both drummers) and he helped me out with his practical advice on moving country and the language nightmares too lol. His support when my dad passed away was a great strength. I respect that he's taken his downtime, but still miss him here even though I know I can reach him elsewhere for a catchup. I think we're all looking forward to ROTJ......... RETURN OF THE JOE! |
