Yep, always was, and it was pre-Peter Jackson (of which I also like the movies 'Bad Taste' and 'Braindead') since I actually read the books! (multiple times!)

I even used to run a Multi User Dungeon (MUD) which kinda died out due to new graphical games like WoW. You can have a look and telnet to jimagica.net port 4000

But Star Wars has always been one of my passions since I love the toys (vintage that is!) and the original movies ofcourse

I'll have to give your MUD a try. Back in the early 90's I used to play LORD on a local BBS with some friends and it was a lot of fun. Earlier this year I set up a variant of it on my server and invited some of those same friends to play. We had a good game going, but it died down after a couple of months.
