I've noticed recently that in the photos on the flip side of the 41 cardbacks that the Hoth Han Solo figure features some excellent brown paint detail on the trim of his hood and boots (also some white paint rings on the boots). Did that extra paint ever make it on to a production figure? I have to say he looks awesome with that added color in the mix.



Now that I take another look, the Rebel Soldier has add'l paint on his boots as well.

Those figures were hardcopies created before the final production figure and used for photography purposes like the cardbacks.

Here is an image of a group of ESB hardcopies on another ESB cardback which include both the Han Hoth and the Rebel Soldier.



What's even cooler about this group of figures is that they survived! (well.. most!)



I believe Jordan from Hollywood Heroes sourced the entire group many years ago- I am not sure if they are all still together in one collection.

(BTW- none of these cool paint schemes made it to production figures)

That's amazing. I wonder, were they kept together and he found the group as a whole? If they hadn't been kept together that must've been extraordinary effort to track them down one by one.

As far as I recall, he sourced that group shown above from a former Kenner employee in one go.
