Lifetime vintage collector

Collecting Focus: Minty fresh loose figures, carded figures and vehicles - condition, condition, condition. There's something about a vintage Star Wars piece that screams factory fresh...sigh... I hunt the ground level (garage sales, estate sales, flea markets etc), networking to find private, undiscovered and forgotten collections. Hunting for vintage Star Wars treasure has been a real pleasure. This place is a wealth of knowledge that is much appreciated.

I've done a lot of lurking and recently decided to join the ranks, this place is now home and can't wait to participate. Thank you and cheers!

Hi,
I'm new to TIG after being referred here from some fellas from the Rebelscum boards.
I recently returned to the hobby after roughly a 10 year hiatus
10 years ago I sold my collection to help fund my wedding
Now that I'm married and settled down, I've got the collecting bug again
I attribute to playing with my little boy and having all my memories bubble back to the surface
Fortunately, I'm a bit more financially stable than when I was in my 20s and I have a very understanding wife (probably since she knows how painful it was to sell my collection from before)
I've been contemplating what to focus on and have finally decided on dabbling in some bootlegs
The posts in this forums have been very education and fun to read
Looking forward to meeting some fellow collectors

Hi everyone,

been lurking around here for awhile, thought I'd make it official.

Got bit by the collecting bug again, haven't done action figures in a long time. Just won my first vintage SW figure last week. Mostly am collecting to use for my blog, hope you can check it out, would love some feedback. I know I'm not following the SW storyline very well, I'm just using the characters as arch types, kinda alternate universe thing. It's all from Vaders point of view and I recommend reading it backwards, but you'll either dig it or not. I hope you dig it. Haven't got a set style yet so all the images are kinda evolving as I go along. I don't want to get you all off topic on your thread but I just had some quick questions, maybe someone could PM me or something.

1. Anyone use Crave or Dash as opposed to Ebay, or in conjunction with Ebay? The websites look good but the product is pretty limited. I'm mostly interested in vintage Star Wars and Lego sets/mini-figs. Just wanted feedback whether they're a waste of time or not.

2. Going to be digging out my old action figure collection from my parents' house soon. Would be willing to trade figures for what I'm looking for. Not sure what all I've got: Masters of the Universe, G.I. Joe, TMNT, Captain Power, Visionaries, Spawn, maybe some others. I know someone on here will have what I want, I'm not real picky. Loose vintage Star Wars with good paint and tight joints. Don't care what country. Don't need all the accessories, but some are more important than others. Maybe some vehicles. Lego and Kubrick SW is good stuff too.

Welcome, Dean! Just wanted to say that being a Beatles Fan and a Star War fan, I love your avatar!!

Thank you. I had to do a little searching to come up with that avatar, I almost thought I'd have to make one myself. I have to say, I've seen the pictures of the Darthenon and I am truly awed. I have a house full of kids and my man cave is a back burner project. The few things I've managed to collect are tucked away in closets and shoe boxes. But now you fellows are giving me some excellent ideas!

Hello I am me!, goodness knws who you lot are, but I aim to change that

I am 41 now, I was 7 when I first saw Star Wars at my local picture house as the were affectionately known back then, I was in ore for the entire running time of the film with mouth wide open & a gasp been hooked on all things SW ever since in all honesty, has seen ESB 47 X by the time I was 11 - god the things we do as children!, there used to be Video cinemas over in Germany where I spent a bit of my youth, I remember 9 X out of 10 when we (our group of childhood buddies that is) would decide to go there it would be to watch on of the SW films, usually Bud Spenser & Terrance Hill romps on the 10 occasion if you have ever heard of them guys films.

I stopped collecting at the same time the last of the SW 4" figure range became available (the last 17etc) as I had gotten in to motorbikes & chasing girls as we I presume all did, & did not link back up with collecting SW figures again till I linked back up with one of the afore mentioned childhood buddies from Germany that I had not seen for 15 years, he had just started collecting figures again when he came over for a visit & it all started again, that was about 10 years ago now & I have been collecting this that & everything since then, till I decided to get some focus sorted in my collecting mess, so i have ended up with a baggie focus with a few side runs of loose figures & variants.

I am still in to the motorbikes & enjoy keeping a marine reef tank set up, just wanted to introduce my self formally to the little community you got going here, I am a member on other SW forums to so you may have seen me on the boards b4, I hope to meet some new folks & learn some useful info from you all, but most of all I hope to have a bit of fun with this hobby we all share.

Living in sweden 35 years old have loved star wars since 1982 and been collecting since 2005

Have always loved loose collecting but my love for the artwork has make me to go for a full boxed vintage set and that is my main goal right now.

On the way i try to pick up vintage posters,variants ,12" and odd stuff(specially swedish playmix) but its a hard competison right now

I have a little moc collection too but mostly of them are bargains i picked up in my hunt for the real deal

I know i gonna like it here and i hope i can chime in with some info sometimes
