So some of you have seen the PBP Vader I got in the last few weeks. I won it from e-bay, and I believe the seller is a member of RS, not sure. Anyway, in the listing, he described that the bottom left corner of the bubble was beginning to lift. When I received it, the bubble is essentially only holding on to the card on one side. Like I could open the bubble like a hinge and take the figure out if I wanted. It was packed very well, in a study box, and shipped in a star case that had been filled with tissue paper to add security. And the pics on e-bay were very detailed, so I don't believed it shipped like this. I think it happened in shipping. I don't blame the seller at all, like I said, it was very meticulously packaged and well documented before shipping. I think it's just old and the glue finally quit.

So the question is, what do I do with it now? It's so delicate that I actually keep in stored laying down, because I'm worried that the last side will finally give out, and the it will just completely fall off.

I have it in an acrylic case, but on a PBP, the bubble is too far from the edge of the card, so the rail on the case doesn't hold it in place. I saw John's vinyl cape Jawa that he had AFA add the extra support for a cracked bubble, but I'm not sure something like that would work in my case. The bubble is falling off so badly that I think that it would take so much additional support, that it would totally obscure the figure and card.

Any thoughts? I REALLY don't want to reseal it.

I have the same problem like you mate. I brougt a nice ESB Leia moc. And in the shipping the bubbel give way and are now only glued in one side. I can take out the figure . so it is not relly a moc any more.

I have the same thougts as you as i do't relly wanna reseal mine . But over time it not hold the bubbel . So what to do ?

Put in a small pice of paper under the futter wich says reseal and then glue it back up or what ? So that i can enjoy it . And never sell it as a moc . This is maybe the best idea i have had.

It is a beauty of a card and the fig is very nice. But right now she is tucked away behinde another acrylic .
Becouse i have not had time to think the delemma thoug.

I'm very kean to hear what other peopel has to say about this isue .

is it possible to put a second repro bubble over the top that is slightly larger and will then hold it in place?

Hmmmm.....that might just be a damn good idea!! I'll need to measure to make sure I can find a bubble that is big enough, but not too big.

But I think it's crazy enough to work!!

Theres a video somewhere showing a double bubble fix it was on an Uzay Chewie. Woked out well. You can also use

saran wrap to seal . Put it ovef the frong of the whole card and then use a star case o keep it pulled taut

I would contact AFA mate & see if they could do something similar to what they did with Johns VCJ,i'm pretty sure they could sort something out for you!

I commend you for just dealing with it- it seems some buyers would expect a refund

So I did some more research, and I decided not to do a whole new bubble over the damaged one. I thought it would cover up the defects of the bad bubble too much, and I felt weird about displaying it like that.

So instead, I dug out an old Star Case and a pair of scissors.

So here's the bad bubble.



Then I cut out a small length of clear plastic. This way, I can put this under the rail of the acrylic case, and over the edge of the bad bubble to hold it in place. So essentially I'm just kind of extending the bad bubble so it slides under the rail.



And here's what it looks like finished. You can barely tell it's there, and it doesn't hide the flaws of the bubble itself. (Crunches, dings, etc.) I'm pretty pleased with it.
