| Hi guys, Could need some help here. I was offered this no COO Biker Scout. He has COO no. 4 according to Wolff’s guide. Most striking difference compared to other Biker Scouts are his skinny legs. But there are a lot of other mould differences as well. On RS I found an older thread claiming this variant was released on Trilogo cards with the “Made in Macao” sticker. Note that this Biker Scout is not the Macau variant having the “Made in Macao” COO (which is COO no.3 in the scheme above). Some questions which I hope you can answer for me: - Was this figure indeed released on “Made in Macao” Trilogo cards?
- Also on other (Tri) cards or baggies?
- Is this a rare figure compared to for instance the Macau Biker Scout? (I want to make the guy a fair offer)

| I've got this figure in my collection mate allthough not as mint as yours. He looks the same as the macau figures but without the scar/macau coo, also his detail is on his boot not leg. I paid £10 for mine and have seen a mint one going for £15 if that helps. |

Thx Scott. I checked your limelight, indeed it is the figure 2nd from the right, the one with the skinny legs. Are you sure he looks the same as the "Made in Macau" version? Biker Scout (LL) MADE IN HONG KONG(2) (RL) LFL ‘83 (LL) MADE IN HONG KONG(2) (RL) LFL ‘83 (Different position) (LB) LFL 1983 (RB) HONG (LB) LFL 1983 (RB) HONG KONG (Different position) (LL) MADE IN TAIWAN (RL) L.F.L 1983 (LB) LFL 1983 NO COO (LB) LFL 1983 NO COO (Different position)(Ledy) BTW: Impressing variant collection, it keeps expanding. Nice work. |

| Look at this pic taken from Lando's locker: From left to right: COO no. 5 (Hong Kong on boot), COO no. 7 (Ledy), COO no. 3 ("Made in Macao")Link: http://www.landoslocker.com/range_rotj/biker_scout.shtml Apparently the skinny legs are not unique for COO no.4. COO no. 5 - having Hong Kong on the right boot - seems to have the same mould with skinny legs (see pic above). That would make sense off course as COO no. 5 can be considered the 'ancestor' of COO no. 4. Note that the "Made in Macao" Biker Scout has a different mould. |

Thanks Marco, I meant to write Macao not macau(which I presumed was the same) I was looking at the Macao scar coo version on RS and they are the same. I also seen the Made in Macao coo version at a differnt time, I don't know if the two Macao variants are different figs but it looked a bit thicker to me. |

You are right there, Macau and Macao are similar names for the same former Protuguese colony close to Hong Kong. Today it is Chinese again. On figure COOs, stickers etc. they always used "Macao". - snaggletooth wrote:

Interesting, so COO no. 5 comes with normal legs and with skinny legs. I assume the description of the pic from Lando's locker is correct, meaning that the skinny leg figure in his pic has indeed COO no. 5. Would be good to have some confirmation. EDIT: Yes it seems right. http://www.landoslocker.com/range_rotj/biker_scout.shtml |

| Joe and I exchanged a few PMs last week about the skinny leg no COO Biker Scout. I thought it would be good to give you a summary. He had a picture of a Trilogo card with a “Fabriqué à Macao” (Made in Macao) sticker. The card came with the skinny leg Biker Scout, like the one which was shown in an older RS thread. Biker Scout, COO no. 4, 'skinny leg' Biker Scout "Skinny leg' Biker Scout on "Made in Macao" Trilogo card. Pic taken from RS thread. In contrast the Palitoy Tricard from Joe’s collection came with a different (“Made in Taiwan”) Biker Scout. Based upon this, I think it is safe to assume that: • the skinny leg Biker Scout was produced in Macau • for the French market (Meccano!) • and (exclusively) released on "Fabrique a Macao" Tri cards. Joe, many thanks for your input!!! Edit: Sigh, I keep misspelling Macau and Macao.

| I asked Joe the same question.
In short the answer is Yes, but it is much more fun to get the answer from Joe's own website: http://trilogo.info/carded-figure-guide/cardbacks-advanced-guide/
Scroll a bit down to reach the info on the french Trilogo cards. |
