Thanks for your help identifying the Meccano Yoda, just great!

I have something else now:

I bought this Lili Ledy burgundy Squid Head a while ago, but only recently noticed something was different here. He has all the traits which you expect him to have: right unique LL COO, blue eyes, soft belt, white skirt and arms with impregnated spots of red dye from the cloak.

The thing which is a bit different here is the color of his wrist armour, light grey instead of dark grey.

Maybe they ran out of dark grey paint in the Lili Ledy factory one day, and decided to continue with light grey paint.

As Lili Ledy's quality control was not that strict the Squid could have made it to the stores anyway.

Anyone has some ideas about this?

I've not seen a light grey wrist paint before. Have you got a MIM figure to compare it to?

The wrist are cleary overpainted! The light grey is a touch-up! You can see the rest from the dark color underneath at the outer line to the arms!

Sorry for telling you that Marco, but Im pretty sure...lets say 100% this is overpainted!

So taking this you should check the rest also much closer!

I didn't suspect a touch up job in first instance. Why would someone apply a paint which seems all wrong at first glance? So I was thinking in the direction of a variant/paint error.

But you might be right Wolff.

I also noticed that the cape of the right Squid seems a bit shorter in length, which might correspond to the thinner collar.

Don't worry, I can handle a bad message much better than they did in ancient times.

I cannot say much on the cape......sorry Im shut up since I felt for the Bib one! (to me it looks okay)

The skirt is the next problem....IMO the left one looks not Ledy....but see above......Ill better shut up!

The paint job:

Still: the wristles are overpainted 100%. Why they didnt got the color??? Because they are not good enough...lol. Matching the correct color exactly is the hardest thing to do. I think this is waaaaaay of beeing called near...so this is clearly non pro job

Maybe a Mexican kid applied the paint job years ago, just for fun.

When I bought the left Squid it came with a Kenner belt and skirt. I swapped them against the belt and skirt from a LL green cape Squid. So that's why the skirt is more white. Is that why you think it is not Ledy?

yes...and be carefull...the skirt from a MIM could be different...the cape is as well!

The true Ledy Squid with grey cape has a more reddish grey cape...not as green as the MIM one...check my pic in my limelight
