| Subject: Lili Ledy Variations Wed Feb 15, 2012 2:56 am | |
| SPECIAL REPORT: UNKNOWN AND RARE LILI LEDY FIGURESTABLE OF CONTENTS***INTRODUCTIONHi Guys, there are some Lili Ledy variations I want to share with you. Though these are not as popular as for instance the Burgundy Bib Fortuna or Burgundy Squid Head, they are very unique (and rare) as well, and might therefore gain more popularity amongst Lili Ledy collectors in the future. Wolff and Marco have already mentioned some of them, The main goal of this entry is to provide a good overview of these uncommon Lili Ledy figures in terms of information and pictures. It is very well possible that some of these variations were released on the early “Imperio Contraataca” (ESB) cards. but because there is no definite proof, let's call them only LL variations for the moment. Lili Ledy ESB 10-back. Back. (Picture from SWCA)I'll be adding different figure entries one by one, I hope you like them. If you have more info on these variations please share. A big thanks to Wolff for his help on this research. Ok, here we go: ***LEIA BESPINLEIA BESPIN WITH LIGHT BROWN HAIR AND HONG KONG COO Paint tone for the hair is unique for this variation. HK COOLL HK Leia Bespin and 'regular' LL Leia Bespin. 'Regular' LL cape on the left. The cape for this variation has longer oval arm holes, different shape and the grid texture on one side. As the cape for this variation is totally different from the regular LL cape there's a possibility that the gun it's also different, still the few times I have found this figure complete it had a LL blue Leia gun. And don't forget to check out the entry for the regular Lili Ledy Leia Bespin: Leia Bespin***YODAYODA WITH HONG KONG COOOrange eyes, same mold as the 'regular' LL Yoda. The figure has a HK COO (COO #3) which belongs to same COO family as the 'no COO' (COO #6) 'regular' LL Yoda. The Hong Kong Ledy Yoda has melt marks on the back similar as those observed on some PBP figures. COOs are different. From left to right: 1. Kenner (Hong Kong COO #2), 2. Lili Ledy (Hong Kong COO #3). 3. Kenner (Hong Kong COO #2). Accessories found on this variation are 'regular' LL ones but the tone for the plastic may vary on the cane, on the belt and on the snake.'EL Retorno' carded example, found by MadHunter from México, One of the early figures made after the LL 'Imperio Contrataca' line. The warranty sheet was not printed on the card, it was inside the bubble. And don't forget to check out the entry for the regular Lili Ledy Yoda: Yoda***SQUID HEADGREEN CAPE SQUID HEADGreen cape with LL material on the collarThis variation can be found with 2 different materias on the collar, one made with the exact same material of the LL Bib Fortuna's cape and the more common one with Kenner material, the one with LL material is the hardest to find, even more than the burgundy variation. Green cape with LL material on the collar
Green cape with Kenner material on the collar
There are 5 variations for the LL Squid Head, from left to right; Burgundy Squid, Green LL cape with LL collar, Green LL cape with Kenner collar, LL Brown cape with Kenner collar and MIM.
***
DARTH VADER DARTH VADER WITH HONG KONG COO AND NO COO
LL Darth Vader with HK COO.
LL Darth Vader with No COO or Erased COO
Both variations have the same paint applications and mold
There are two type of capes for these variations: thin (HK COO) and thick (No COO), thin on the left:
Both capes have a dull and a bright side and they have the same size and shape.
Both variations can be found with regular LL red sabers:
There's a unique LL saber found on some LL Darth Vaders:
This saber is very thin, and has a unique shape and tip. This saber has been found on LL HK Darth Vaders, thin cape with 'Retorno' cards. So probably it is an early version for the 'Imperio' line and made it into some of the 'Retorno' cards.
Regular LL saber on bottom:
And don't forget to check out the entry for the regular Lili Ledy Darth Vader: Darth Vader
***
LUKE BESPIN LUKE BESPIN WITH BLOND HAI
This variation has blond hair and dark brown boots.
LL HK Luke, 'Regular' LL Luke Bespin and Overstock head.
Date stamp and COO. This variation has melt marks on the back similar as those observed on some PBP figures.
The weapons for this variation are unique LL accessories; blue rebel pistol with a small angle below the barrel and matt yellow saber with big circles (on top).
And don't forget to check out the entry for the regular Lili Ledy Luke Bespin:
[*] Luke Bespin***R2D21978 R2D2The LL 1978 R2D2 has a dull silver & dark blue dome just as the 12" R2D2 made by LL, these characteristics indicates an earlier LL R2D2 probably part of the 'Imperio Contrataca' line. Not all the LL R2D2 with the Dark Blue Paint on the dome (on the left) have the 1978 date stamp and that's why this is one of the hardest LL variations out there.LL Carded 'El Retorno' R2D2 with the dark blue dome. Again, one of the first figures made after the LL 'Imperio Contrataca' line. The warranty sheet was not printed on the card, it was inside the bubble.Date stamp with the 1978 and no COO.And don't forget to check out the entry for the regular Lili Ledy R2D2: R2D2***TeeboBrown Eyes TeeboThe only difference between the 'regular' LL Teebo and this variation is the color applied on the face, regular LL Teebo and Brown Eyes Teebo share the same date stamps, plastic tone, body paint and accessories.Three examples of this variation:It has regular LL accessories.Carded Example. And don't forget to check out the entry for the regular Lili Ledy Teebo: Teebo***Han BespinHan Bespin with HK COOThe LL HK Han Bespin (on the right) it's made from a different mold than the regular LL Han Bespin and it has a lighter brown tone in the legs.Date stamp and Coo for this variation:LL HK in the middle, not LL on both sides:LL HK in the middle, not LL on both sides: All, regular and HK LL Han Bespin have the same type of head. There's a version of the LL HK Han Bespin with the back buckle painted white:And don't forget to check out the entry for the regular Lili Ledy Han Bespin: Han Bespin***C3POC3PO with 3-line COOThis variation unique difference is the 3-line COO and has all the LL characteristics, screw on back, paint, mold, and melt marks on the back. Date stamp and COO for this variation:Regular LL 2-line COO and 3-line COO. And don't forget to check out the entry for the regular Lili Ledy C3PO: C3PO

| While sorting through my loose Obi-Wans for the FOTW thread I came across this one. I've checked the Obi-Wan guide on here & my figure appears to be pretty similar. Could one of the Ledy experts confirm whether this is a Ledy/PBP figure or the Kenner version I have heard about. It has Kenner accessories (may not be original to the figure). [img] [/img][img] [/img] [img] [/img][img] [/img] [img] [/img] Any help will be greatly appreciated |

| Hi guys, that Obiwan shares the same mold that the LL Obiwan but it's not a LL figure, take a look: LL on the left. One of the basic differences between these two figures is the plastic tone, LL has a pale orange tone, not LL has a deep bright orange tone. LL on the left Not LL on the middle: LL Obi wan has brown or dark brown eyes, grey hair and a beige tone on the face, not LL Obi has black eyes, white hair and a pink/pale tone on the face. Both figures have an extended index finger (LL on top) Same date stamp for both figures Not LL date stamp. Look at the bright orange plastic tone. LL date stamp. Look at the pale orange plastic tone. | Thank you very much OZIO for taking the time to clear that up & post the additional pictures to help aid identification. At least having a confirmed Kenner version will make it easier for me to correctly identify a Ledy/PBP figure if I get one in hand.

| I was already writing an answer, but you scooped me, Ozio!! Nothing more to add. Yeah-sus & CP: Glad that you guys found your answer here, don't forget you can post any Ledy question in this thread. There are no stupid questions, just stupid answers. BTW: I'm still looking for a Kenner Ben with COO#7 to make comparison pics with his Ledy brother. So pls let me know when you decide to sell him one day. Ozio: Great contribution about the Hong Kong Leia. Two Han Bespin Hong Kong variants? Hmm, I still miss one variant. |

Is it the same answer? Thanks for the link, but I am confused, I miss Yoda in the Lili Ledy thread. I think you make better pictures and explain it better I think I miss the snake, I have no snake with a circle :crying: |

| That old thread (I think it was one of my first here) gave me the idea of making a Lili Ledy thread, that's how it all begun. I started with Yoda in that thread, and will end with him in this thread. Only a few more figures to go now. (and one "+" like for Lars, for posting a question in this thread ) |

How werid is that!? I can't explaing how that got in my posession. Hey Jeremy, I'd guess your Bib (cape) was from a baggie similar to these: http://www.imperialgunneryforum.com/t3170p15-help-identifying-a-bag-o-bib-fortuna 'I' owned two of these 'Ledy' Bibs from when I was a kid. I'm pretty certain mine came (baggied) from the "Palitoy/Woolworth" multipacks my Uncle bought my brother and I, along with a similar Logray & Lumat each & a few other figures. Back 2006ish? Marcus (blutch) & I compared them with his Ledy Bib from Mexico and IIRC they differed slightly. 'My' two Bibs (& your cape) seemed to be neater / better made, and the paint apps. on the figure were a little different (somehow?) – unfortunately I've lost the emails with the details comparing them. Back then we wondered if they were some sort of MIM variant (made specifically for distribution outside Mexico), or perhaps something to do with PBP, or just some weird better quality overstock ????? - OZIO wrote:
- Hi Guys, there are some 'unknown' LL variations I want to share with you, these are not as popular as the Burgundy Bib Fortuna or the Burgundy Squid Head but they are also very unique, Wolff and Marco have already mention some of them, I hope I can help with this information and pictures, there's a chance that some of these variations could be part of the Lili Ledy ESB line, but as we don't know yet let's call them only LL variations for the moment I'll be adding one by one, I hope you like them. If you have more info on these variations please share.
Great work Ozio, Wolff etc. that LL Leia is beautiful - OZIO wrote:

but isn’t she a 'known' variant? Henrik & Steve York did a pretty good job describing her back in 2005!Rog |

Great info, Rog. I own one of these Bibs still in his baggie. So it might be from the Woolworth multipacks. I will make some comparison shots with a loose Ledy Bib soon!! |

| Great info Rog, that's where I think my best condition Bib is from, that same baggie Jase has but I didn't put it together with the Woolworth multipack. Marco if that is indeed the case then its one of the dark caped ones that's pictured with the other 3 COO variants in this thread. I'm not sure but worth a look.
