| Subject: Figures 'escaping' their MOC bubble during shipping - does insurance apply? Sat Jun 28, 2014 2:11 pm | |
| Hey guys, If I were to ship a MOC, AFA or otherwise, and the figure escapes or breaks the bubble, will USPS insurance cover it or that other insurance ebay offers cover this type of problem? My biggest concern is with AFA since I can't do anything to shore up the bubble. I have shipped a bunch of MOCs and all without issue so far (knock on wood!), but I am very concerned with Trilogos in particular and just would like to know if insurance was purchased (and I bomb proof my package as best as possible), could a claim be made? If so, would it be for the full amount, partial or other? I know a few of you have had a few figures flee their bubbles on their way to you, so can you offer advice or insight? Thanks! |

| Interesting question Jay. As AFA cased figures breaking through their bubble is beyond our control, I would also be interested in an answer. You could argue, that if an AFA cased item is sent suitably packed with 'Fragile' or 'Handle With Care' labels on the outer packaging, any damage in transit is the fault of the postal service. Therefore they should issue compensation. Whether this works in practice is another matter . With regards to loose moc items, again if it is well packed & labelled, any damage should be covered by insurance. |

| I've had this happen a lot.
I'm sad to say that I've filed two claims and gotten $0 in total back. Unless the outer box is damaged they don't seem to take responsibility. |

| It's a shame. I remember back in the days of PS2's, I sold my on eBay and in transit it got a nasty bump and damaged the laser. Royal mail paid out the claim and the playstation was fixed. No damage to the outer shipping box. However that was a long time ago..... |
