Following a recent incident with an improvised explosive device on a US bound aircraft, all packages to the US will be subject to stricter screening by US authorities. This could lead to delays in your items being delivered to customers in the US.

If you sell to the US, you should:

* Amend your listing description to point out that delivery may be delayed for the above reason
* When a sale is made, manage your customer’s expectations by reminding them about why delivery may be delayed
* Contact your delivery company (eg Royal Mail service) to obtain up-to-date information on delivery services to the US

Might be unrelated but when I posted out a parcel the other day they asked if it was going to America, I said no and they pointed to a sign "no longer accepting parcels to the USA under 450g in weight" I just found it a little odd lol

Thats just screwed up. Joe, it might be related to it. I got a package due in, but I already know that its delayed a tad longer coming from France and I got one sent out today from Denmark. Heres the message on the tracking from France.

La Poste cannot meet any longer its usual transit time commitment toward this destination. In the mean time La Poste implements all necessary means to transport all shipments towards the US within the best possible time frame. Therefore 2 to 3 additional days should be added to the usual transit time.

Guess they wont show up before Christmas. And just think alot of the good items are overseas. Time to move.

My misses Family live in the windy city and was planning on sending Christmas gifts. I'll let her know so she can get a move on.

There really isn't much of a delay for incoming. I got the package in from Paul today and it was about normal time frame. But it did weight more than 400g though. So I'm guess anything like a letter or padded envelope, they are going to check hard. I can find out whats going on from my local PO next time I go.
