guys, did you ever reach a point where you got almost every mocs you wanted and then feel a little bit lost? i reached that point once i bought the last first wave moc and then bought some other moc like luke bs, luke stormie, some rotj fett, star wars comic book...but now i feel like having reached a point where i have near zero interest on moving forward...tried the vehicles but it is really not my cup of tea (that's why they are for sale!)...and i am just collecting mocs since 2009...what's the problem?

the only piece i see interesting are the vc jawa and a moc with a revenge offer...but now, i feel kinda disconnected...strange isn't?

last week i decided to upgrade my moc stormie to an afa 80...but i cannot upgrade all of my mocs (almost all of them are c8.5-c9)...grrrrrrrrrrrr

It's only natural to reach a "stagnant" point. I've been there multiple times myself.

One thing I always recommend is to focus on the display and the preservation of your collection (Oscar cases, lighting, shelves, cabinets, etc.). That always seems to spark some more interest for me.

Also, it's ok to dabble in some other areas. I recently picked up a 12-back (never thought I would own one, but I couldn't resist) and while it's completely out of my focus, it's something fun and unique and a great way to see where this whole thing started! I've also slowly started dabbling in some other areas of interest, like Ledy, Model Trem, 3-legged R2 and Wind up R2. These are pieces that I've always wanted, but just never found the "time" or interest to pick up. However, with that, comes the fascination of gathering all the info, prices, and recent sales so that I can make some informed decisions.

Lastly, I also recommend focusing on something. Whether that be a figure, vehicle, scene, planet, etc. Focus collections are great, especially for your SW budget. Not only that, but they can branch off in a million different directions.

That's my two cents. Hang in there bro, just take a step back and enjoy what you have. Something will come to you soon enough.

Just coming out of a pretty deep state of hobby blahs, I can definitely understand where you're coming from.
My suggestions will very much mirror the things Chris has said. A complete revamp of your display area can help breathe new life into a collection when you're not in buying mode. Taking time to just look at other peoples collections, how they display items, reading articles and blogs about other areas of interest in the hobby that you may not have thought of previously.Or maybe even a non SW related hobby for a while. Don't just jump into a new subfocus, let it come naturally. Trust me after 20+ years of collecting I've had my share of lulls in interest. It's bounced back every time so far for me, so I'm sure it'll come back when the time's right. Just keep what you have and don't make any rash judjments in buying or selling for the time being.

I also agree with what Joe and Chris have said about working on your display during the off times. How I display my items has become more and more important to me over time. I reached a simular point when I finished my loose set of figures. It was right around that time, that I started work on my DIY display case and it really brought a breath of fresh air to see my figures displayed like that. Whenever, a fellow collector visits, that is the first thing they gravitate to because it reminds them of the vintage cardbacks.

Something else that you could do is work on your collecting library or even just search the archive. I, like you, started picking up a few vehicles and just wasn't feeling it. I finally got around to buying John Kellerman's book when he said stock was low and the section on mailers in that book really clicked with me, so that ended up being the next direction I took. You just never know where you will find something that will help renew your interest.

I took a different outlook on things as i change focus like the wind changes direction.

Firstly i cant display a lot of my stuff so i have a small fett focus which i will always have, i then started reselling stuff, basically i got the benefit of collecting new stuff and didnt have to just store it in the loft which is a waste.

I get the best of both worlds, i can collect stuff, pick the bits that i want to keep and then resell the other stuff for profit. Then start again on a different area of star wars, ive collected all sorts of stuff and had some lovely things in my possesion that have brough back memories.
I ve bought a lot of beater stuff for my son to play with...ahem...i can inadvertantly play with them myself lol.

Its each to their own but ive found what suits me best, you will have good and bad times where your sick of the clutter and want to shift it on, after all, the hunt for what you want is a part of the addiction.
