I have to have a bit of a rant here guys about some of my post office experiences lately!

I went the other day to post some bits off and its becoming an absolute nightmare!

Firstly our post offices are always super busy (Middlesbrough, Darlington, Stockton) so it can take at times up to 45 minutes to be served: head bang:

The worst bit though is for the most part there is just one main queue that you have to go navigate. (Especially in Middlesbrough where the post office is the ground floor of WHSmith) Its a bit like a winding queue system that you find at a theme park where people are bunched up tight and it goes around in and S type of shape.

Here is what pisses me off -

The post offices always seems to be full of totally scum bags waiting to collect Free State / tax payer funded welfare payments. The other day we had total scum chavs who were swearing kicking things over and bragging about how many drugs they planed to by with their giro payments (this didn’t stop them asking nearly everyone for a pound). Then there was benefit families with kids running feral smacking into old people, crushing sweets / crisps into the the floor and causing utter chaos. Add to this a wide range of creatures that wouldn’t be out of place in Mos Eisley Cantina I’m taking about drunks with rotten stumps for teeth coughing and spluttering germs everywhere and people who stunk so bad of piss I felt fucking dizzy just been in the same building.

Mixed into all of these above people (who were in there to get state payments) were people like myself (who are actually genuine paying customers that the post office makes money on) just looking to pay and use the postal services on offer.

Honestly if was a total nightmare I came out after 45 minutes felling the I needed to go to a decontamination station and had to send my suit to the dry cleaners straight away.

In my opinion they should spilt the building into 2 i.e partition it off and have one area deal with the cantina people and then have a separate area where the genuine paying customers looking to purchase post office services so they can do so in a relatively safe environment!

Rant over! I know some post offices have improved Darlington is a lot better these days but as I work in Middlesbrough that’s the one I usually have to go to.

im posting a lot lately and a 10 min round trip to the post office now takes a good hr.

my post office is always rammed, its a total nightmare.
The other day there was 1 person working, and the women in front of me had 3 carrier bags full of parcels.
I was 2nd in the que but still waited for 45 mins, turns out she had 62 parcels to post....i was not a happy chappy.

Then when its just the old guy working he can't operate the new system, so anything with more than the need of a stamp is a big no no. So i then have to go into town, which like yours is in wh smiths.




sometimes i think it would be quicker to use someone like dhl and get them to collect from me lol

im pretty lucky as there are two within a mile of my house, as long as you can avoid monday morning ( giro/pension day ) and friday (giro/ pension day ) then its not too bad,

the one in the galleries (washington) is horrendous though probabley just as bad as what you have mentioned, its open all day saturday which means it attracts all sorts , i remember a few months ago there was a fucking massive queue easily 40 peeps and i seen a lad who works at my place at the front his wife was screaming blue murder over some mix up , an old dear in front muttered the foul mouth twat...... god i nearly wet myself i actually laughed out loud, the whole place stared at me especially this lad and his irate wife, ive seen him a few times and he just stares at me which is always greeted by me smiling at him then telling anyone who will listen why he stares at me..


def should have two different places for different thing one of which should read welfare/ benefit handouts in big letters it may be enough to encourage some of them to get a job

My local one is pretty good any time of day. Now the one I used to use, they are shit. Slow ass people working there who don't know fuck all about shipping international packages. Plus don't go there at lunch time or 3pm. Seems like every dimwit wants to be there asking a million questions, why is this, why is that? Get your shit and go! Thats one of the reasons why I quit using them.

My local one is also pretty good. They've recently moved to a new building and have organized all the different services into separate queues - so for parcel items it's a separate Q, money withdrawals and bills a separate Q, and general purchases a separate Q. There is also an automated machine that weighs letters and dispenses stamps - separate Q too. Seems a really good system.
Not all POs in France are like this - we just lucky that ours has refurbed and relocated recently

Well its seems that peoples post office experiences in Europe and the USA are not as bad as some of the ones found in the UK.

I've been tracking a parcel for a couple of days and it's supposed to be signed for which means they bring it to me, most other times I have to go pick up normal parcels, now the tracking says its delivered but its not here lol I guess its at the post office ! BLARGH

I was in the queue the other day and there was this utter disgusting fat fucker (im not against fat, it just felt good to say it because he was gross) he stank to high heaven and had matted greasey hair, he chucked his card at the person at the deask and said he wanted his money, she said "how much" and he just replied "all of it"

He has a CEX bag with about 5 or 6 xbox games in it, and his missus was stood with a pram saying "i arnt off fookin bak to cex for anuver game"

I wanted to kick his head in

Hence now whay i use DHL, they pick the item up from your house and provide superb tracking, unfortunately i have to post anything under £20 via recorded which results in me suffering again.

The should split the buildings in to 2 parts one section (away from the general tax paying public) for the yobs, chavs and scumbags causing havoc waiting for there state payments. I sent my PA to post for me the other day and she said that in the queue there was a dirrty stinking smack head chewing a used needle trying to tap everyone for a pound even though he had a bloody Giro in his hand! She said it looked like loan sharks / dealers were hanging round so i guess he owed his full payment to them.

Its a fucking disgrace that good honest hardworking genuine fee paying customers have to navigate this just to be able to pay for the postal services they want to use.

Thankfully i have found a small / local Post Office in Darlington where its far less of a problem the flip side is the advisors are ancient and if you ask for anything more than a first class stamp your there for at least 30 mins waiting for them to work out how the computer works

If one thing about Ireland that still nice... it is that they still have their small independents and little local post offices. And they are nice ... like they used to be .... they keep an eye out for the old dears and get concerned if a regular doesn't come in for his morning paper etc. The post-lady was even kind enough accept and put through the system Uli's Palitoy Sign to Germany for me without me paying as the cashmachine was out of order. I paid her back of course 20 min later but it weighed a ton with the bullet proof packing and would of seriously put her out of money if I never came back

Another nicity is that you have to work and pay taxes here for two years before you are entitiled to any benifits. It doesn't stop all the work shy from sitting on their fat arese but it is n't as bad as home.
