Hi everyone - I either made a huge mistake yesterday or gained my most significant and sought after figure... please could you guys help me verify it's authenticity and compare with yours, share your thoughts on whether this is all original?

A few of my thoughts:
1) I thought all EB lukes had red eyes, brown belts and 3 line coo's, however I did google and saw an AFA black eyed version - but then again AFA is not infallible I would wager... so does anyone else have a DT luke figure like this?
2) I'm certain about the main part of the saber because it has dirt in the seam (under a microscope), it has scratches, has flashing on the hilt end around the hole which I've seen on others, and the main thing is it's an 'MM' engraved hilt.
3) this is my most concerning observation... the extendable/extra telescoping part is a different plastic color (more vibrant) to that of the main part of the saber. its also consistent in color all the way along so it's not that half has been sticking out for 30 years and discolored from uv damage. I really hope the extendable part isn't a replacement... does anyone else have a DT saber that differs in color from the main to the extendable part?
4) the extendable doesnt fit snug in the main saber part (tried to get a few pics for you to compare), it's smaller and rattles around a bit (not sure if that's expected though)
5) light (when placed behind) passes through much more easily than my repro one[1]
6) the extendable bit is thinner than the RevalveIT repro I have [1] - not sure if this has any relevance though.

[1] I have a RevalveIT repro to compare against with the "II" on the hilt and "Rev" on the reverse.  Oddly the repro exdendable bit fits better than the supposedly original one...

And here's a ton of pictures because it's night time here, under artificial light and getting a cameras white balance correct is nearly impossible!

Thanks you all SO MUCH for any comments, thoughts, comparisons or pictures of your DT's, I seriously don't know what I'd do without such a fabulous group of collectors to share and enjoy this hobby with.  In fact I don't think i'd even have started this hobby without this group so a HUGE thank you to you all!  cheers

the wider, more dull yellow (ironically it more closely matches the hilt) at the bottom is the repro

Big copyright 2 line Luke is also 'correct' for DT Luke ( 'all' early bird baggie Lukes are 2 line big copyright )
If you roll the inners between your fingers can you feel that the revalveit is round and the other one is more oval? Have you tried a black?UV light on the saber bits?

Ah fantastic! yes it's oval! James that's amazing, thank you so much for your amazing knowledge! in fact as you roll it it's visibly oval in shape, like the regular thin ended v1 sabers but maybe not quite as pronounced. And yes the revalve is indeed round and makes a good comparison when checking them together too.

Ah fantastic! I also didn't know about the "Big copyright" on the baggies, in fact I'd not realised it was bigger (luckily i have a good run of Lukes to compare with - I have no others with the big copyright). another great bit of info! thanks! In the store the guy wasnt sure it was the correct luke and nearly gave me another, thank goodness he didn't!

So does that mean there are no known repros out there where the inner is oval in shape? it just seems odd how different the plastic is between the outer and inner saber. I assume your superb knowledge means you have a DT luke too? if so is yours made up of two different plastics? the artifical light does show it up more - here's one in the daylight I took yesterday when I proudly brought him home to sit with my Luke run, see how the colors don't look quite as different in natural light[1]?

No I've not tried black/UV light - not that I have any UV lights but if I did try it what would I be looking for?

black/UV light torches on ebay are dirt cheap. Everyone should have one.

Super! got one on order already. Thanks!

Please could you share some pictures of your/others DT inner and outer? I'm very pleased (and relieved) that mine is oval in shape but it'd be great to get a visual comparison and see if others have different colored inner to outer plastic too. Also, is it true that there are no known repro's out there with oval shaped inner parts (i see we have 4 known repros on TIG.com but nothing mentions their shape)?

A further thought has occurred to me that the inner might be from a different DT saber than the outer? is it known if there were multiple types, colors, densities of plastics used for DT sabers over the short period they were made?

Please help because I need to be certain about this or I need to return it soon.

Thanks!

here's some more images in daylight:

Hi AJ - I got my UV lamp and the DT glows like crazy.

Do ALL original sabers glow? My Ben ones I was certain were original but don't glow, but more concerning is that I have two round transition Luke sabers that don't glow (the flat transitions all glow) - does it mean the round transitions are definitely repros? Or are there original sabers that don't glow?
The Vader ones glow like mad too, they look awesome...
Also to note is that the RevalveIT vader sabers glow too.
