| I've never heard of that. I have a mailer Fett and couldn't distinguish it from any other Fett. Where did you hear it was unique? |

| Never heard about a mail away Boba Fett variant. It is just a normal HK figure, I suppose.
Apparently the limbs are of another grey or something...
Sounds like discolouration to me.
Here is some good info on the Boba Fett mail away (Shawn's site)

| Sorry Bud, couldn't help myself - budspencer wrote:

I think that this would defiantely fall into the 'degredation/discolouration' catagory. Boba Fett never had grey limbs. There are however examples of Boba with light blue, grey limbs etc. but the general thought on this is that they are that colour as a result of being discoloured. This is something that tends to be more common with bagged figures. I don't know for certain, but the vast majourity of 'Mailer fetts' I've seen have all been Hong Kong figures, and the vast majourity of discoloured figures also seem to be Hong Kong figures also. Here is a fine example of a Boba Fett with 'grey' discoloured limbs from my collection: In short there is no unique Boba Mailer that I'm aware of, there's a thread here that might help. |

| Well it is good stuff to know about because i have seen some sellers telling people in their descriptions that the Boba in their auction has grey limbs and therefore is one of the original mail away figures which got me skeptical. Some sellers are quick to tack on extra stuff in their description to make the figure look like it is more special that it really is. I try to avoid these sort of things and the best way to avoid these pitfalls is by being educated by folks like you. thanks |

| i'm inclined to think the Boba - which plastic tends to fade more grey over time - is likely the first veriion of the mail away figure- I only say this because I was at a Discount surplus store here in Mpls. near 20 years ago. and they had a whole 55 gallon drum of Boba's - (no bags) This was old Gen Mills- GMFGI Surplus- they all were this version. And most i've seen share this style. (Also there were a drum full of Jabba Heads- weapon packs- and salacious in baggies) I want to know where the Clean © Hong Kong one came from ? that has the Mecc style type. (later ROTJ? 77bk)??) |

| Call me crazy. But I'd think the easiest way to tell if a Boba is a mailer one is if it looks like a Boba Fett and comes in a mailer. |
