Your Kudos increases with each post you make & +ve vote received. Your TIG reputation goes up (usually by 5 points) with each +ve vote you get.

Aparently you no longer lose rep points for receiving a -ve. Hope that helps

I think it's easy to accidently make a neg vote just when scrolling, almost did it myself a few times. And there's def been a few times new members have used it not having a clue what it's for

On a funny note, I ACCIDENTLY gave a couple negatives out not knowing what they were. One was to Ozio on his "for sale" thread : ( It was an accident and I had no idea what I had just clicked on. Is there a breakdown on what KUDOS are versus the TIG Rep?
If Rep is the + symbol and the - symbol doesn't detract from the Rep, then what are KUDOS exactly?

And how do I "Thank" someone?
Is that only available on a thread I start?

I built, ran, mod'ed, admined and fiddled with many a forum in my days, but I am not familiar with the Kudos, thanks and rep stuff.
The boards I ran/built didn't do that kind of stuff so I never looked into it.

If there is a post somewhere explaining it all, please point me to it.

Some of those reds are mine. I thought the plus/minus thing on the side was meant for if you agree or disagree with posts. They were from the signature thread - your sig singlehandedly ruins this forum on my phone. No biggy, I got an iPad now and don't really browse with my phone much anymore.
