Though mainly a vintage collector, I also collect some modern SW lines as well. More of you guys might and therefore I asked Jay whether he could make a bit room for modern stuff as well on this forum. Not too much, just a bit, as TIG should keep its focus on vintage off course.

Thanks Jay for responding positively, and giving us the opportunity to discuss and show off modern stuff somewhere in the outer rim of the TIG forum Very Happy

I've seen him a time or two at the local stores here in town. I've seen both versions, foil racetrack and non foil.

As far as modern collecting goes... I used to have a good size modern Fett collection.

Although as my other collections grow larger... there isn't much room for modern Fetts.

They are all for sale in the General Classified section!!!

The only modern items that I am holding on to are my autographed POTF2 Freeze Frame figures... and the vintage style modern Fetts.

The AT-ST & K-mart two packs look really nice aswell. It's a shame the speeder bike isn't in vintage style packaging, I guess they will save that for a re-issue like the Falcon & AT-ST.

They should be, the previous versions were. Unfortunately TRU in the UK tend to be behind the US stores so you may see them on eBay 1st.

Man, I would love to get both the AT-AT and the Falcon since I passed on them the first time around. But the two enemies of collecting, space and money, will likely keep me from them this time around too.

Without actually trying to I found I had built up a pretty comprehensive collection of modern Vader and Fett figures (with a few Stormtrooper and Sandtrooper variations for good measure). I bought a few of the original line-up of orange card Power of the Force figures when they first hit the shelves and would check the toy isles every so often from then on and if I found a figure I liked with packaging in the appropriate condition I'd pick it up. About 18 months ago I took an inventory of what I had randomly collected over the years and found that I didn't need much to complete the Vader figures (keeping it Original Trilogy related). That's pretty much when the rot set in and I started to actually seek out specific modern Vader and Fett figures to fill in what I wanted in my collection.

I've got a Canadian OTC #93 and a Lost Line Vader arriving in the mail this week. I am pathetic--lol.

Speaking of which, these just arrived:

OT - The TIG Modern Star Wars Collecting Thread DCLostLine

The Vader is excellent but naturally, being me, something had to get damaged and the bubble on the Sandtrooper is slightly crushed on one corner. I was able to massage it out a bit but it's still got the crazing in the plastic where it folded up. I have to say though I am really impressed with the Sandtrooper figure. In my opinion it is the best release of the figure to date--the paint job is just right--I really like that they've made a folding stock on his blaster too!

According to this: http://www.jedinews.co.uk/news/news.aspx?newsID=7958 the AT-AT will be released in the UK in September/October, but the Falcon won't. Sad

I have a fairly large modern collection due to my girls... have about 25 Padme and Leia figures, then several of the new vintage line figures as well as the Expanded Universe (Thrawn, Clone Emperor, etc).

I just can't find the lone Starkiller! It's pissing me off. I can find it on amazon for $25-30 but not at any local stores Crying or Very sad

They've done a great job on the vintage style design with those three. That X-Wing looks great!

I'm really excited (yes, "excited" Smile ) to see this line. I've always thought that a middle of the road, 6" articulated
figure would be great. (Mattel even prototyped a 6" figure for the SW license when it was coming up for bids)

I have a question for people that have been collecting the POTF2+ lines. Are there any known variations (packaging,
production, rolling changes, etc) that you are still looking for ? A lot of people discount the modern line, but in my experience
some of those variations are still some of the rarest SW pieces around.
