| Last summer I jumped back into vintage collecting with the goal of acquiring a loose Kenner production action figure set to proudly display (yeah yeah, it happened to me too). I knew accomplishing this goal with relative ease could be done with some patience, cash and eBay. So the challenge caveat: I have to complete the set by means of in person "in the wild" purchases only. Going into this challenge and living in the United States, the first figure that came to mind regarding a challenge of seeking out, Yak Face. In the back of my mind I thought that when I reached that point, mailing away for one would be the only option. With a little bit of luck, my Chicago haul happened to prove otherwise and he was added to my collection. Star Wars: The Action Figure Archive edited by Stephen J. Sansweet with Josh Ling mentioned this statement in the book: Always intrigued by these type of happenings, I wonder exactly how close was Kenner to offering this figure in the United States as a mail away? Was that their original intention with the figure? If anyone else can confirm and share a little bit regarding the topic, it would be greatly appreciated. I will be attending my first Celebration this year in Orlando and wanted to give back to a community that has shared invaluable knowledge with me. I'm certainly impressed with the amount of time and dedication the people of this hobby share with this event and had to participate. Limited to 77 only! I will be at the Archive party and roaming Celebration all weekend, so please come by, shake a hand and say hello. |

| First, very cool on the button design! I'd love to get my hands on one, so hopefully I can find you at the archive party.
As to the Yakface mailer. Some info can be found in this old thread, including a picture. I would assume that is what the book is referencing to as well. Unfortunately, the source for these is tainted, so it is up to you if you think the story checks out or not. |

| Thank you all for the feedback and information! I'm going to stash a couple aside as trade bait for other C6 exclusives. Look for the nearest bar at the Archive party, I'm sure to be hovering in that area. |

| Free Yak Face!!! (for some reason this reminds me of the Free Winona campaign from the mid 90's).
I'll definitely have to find you at the archive party to get one of these.
