I have a few boxes of vintage figures and I came across this today, when i was comparing two Rancor Keeper figures. The back of one is painted the same as his boots, and in spots where paint has rubbed off, it's clearly the red-brown color underneath. While the backside of the other is the red-brown. Is this a known variant? Thanks for any help!!!

Looking at the two, it's clear the red-brown is painted over the flesh color of the plastic. And with what may be a variant, the red-brown covers the flesh color, and is itself covered by the boot color

I wonder if someone has painted this at some point in its life. It would be near impossible for the factory to paint over one color with another in a spot that was spray masked already for the first color. Also this greenish color we see isn't the boot color i think. The boots are straight gray like the arm bands. My best guess is someone painted over the waist section.

I don’t know, guys. I’ve had this fellow for decades and, setting aside the limbs discoloration, it does look like the shorts’ paint is factory apply. And he does look suspiciously similar to the figure MikeyB was showing...
