Yeah, indeed, those where on RS some time ago, i believe there was one loose one also, wich was used to take the pic's, and SWscout still has this on ebay for sale, have been thinking about it a few times.

He also just stated as well that they were in *heat* sealed bags, to me that would have been part of the piece, no other Emperor was heat sealed as far as I am aware.. (Maybe there is a macau but all Kenner Hong Kong ones were taped so its both a cool thing and a sad one to know that these early first shots were heat sealed )

Hollywood heroes were selling a few of these a few months back.

They worked out at just over £100 each, which was a good price. I really wanted to buy one but had just bought a car so i was skint.

I didn't realise at the time they were in heat sealed baggies, just pressumed they were taped.

Joe is 100% correct that kenner bagged emperors are usually taped, only macau emperors are heat sealed so its a shame he decided to remove it.

I thought they were tape sealed also.

I think it received the u-grade because it was pulled from a sealed box. I didn't think those baggies were heat sealed.

Typically I wouldn't give a shit about an Emperor baggie since there seems to be a never ending supply of them, but this was a first shot baggie freshly pulled from a sealed box. I have no issues with u-grading a destroyed baggie or MOC with a destroyed bubble but this drives me nuts. Just like the heat sealed DT Luke baggies, once they're gone, they are gone for good and I only know of one of those that is completely safe from the uncirculated graders.

He would have still received the U grade leaving it in the tape sealed baggie correct? The open box designating the U?

That's what I thought initially Chris but he just stated heat sealed baggie and thats pretty specific, can understand if he said graded from a sealed baggie and meant box, but to specify on the seal type? Strange!

Also - apparently the sealed boxes came with ESB booklets instead of ROTJ ones, I really wish if he had to grade it he could have graded it with the box + paperwork, its all relevant to the piece in my opinion.

No, tape sealed baggies cannot be u-graded, only heat-sealed. That is one reason you can actually find a DT Luke in a baggie! : )
