| Matt, I know you don't have it in hand but did he do the float test?
Regular Kenner and droids both float when placed on top but sink if submerged. Glasslite one doesn't sink at all. Reproduction all sink as far as I know. |

| I asked. It does float -- and looks like the lighter green Glasslite one. |

| Thanks Bryan.
I went ahead with the purchase. This guy hasn't failed me yet and has sold my some truly quality stuff that has passed every test. It's getting shipped with a couple of other goodies so I'll be sure to post it once it arrives in the mail. |

Oddly it does look lighter than normal, but it could be the flash kind of washed it out. When you get it let us know what you think. I bet it is authentic, but curious how a glasslite might have ended with a kenner figure. Glasslite saber up in the glasslite guide kind of has a transparent look to it, but not sure if that is just the pic, my eyes, or my mind playing tricks on me. Edit: Guess it would help if I read the dang guide all the way. Stef said they are semi transparent. http://www.imperialgunneryforum.com/t6330p30-glasslite-guide-discussion-thread#R2-D2 |

| Thanks Bryan.
I'll be sure to post some pictures once it arrives for sure. I think it may be the flash, but I guess we'll see! |

| There is two POTF variants guys and one is unsinkable like the Glasslite and doesn't have an EPM either. Here's a like to some great research Stef did on it a couple of years back. http://www.imperialgunneryforum.com/t6098-r2-d2-pop-up-saber-variants |

| Scott, looking at that link it appears there is a repro that doesn't sink also? So how can one tell the "molded" repro from the original? Is this affirmative that only glasslite sabers, the non epm Kenner saber, and this repro float? That throws a monkey wrench into things. |

That's correct Bryan and I'm afraid this is one of the accessories the repo makers have come very close with. It's only by sight you can tell this version apart now and I beleve the repo in that thread is also to fool collectors in to thinking there original Glasslite. if you look at Arohk post you can now see how these repo makers have also perfected the float till tapped test as the dark green versions a repo. |

| Damn. You guys have me nervous now! I'm sure that this lightsaber I'm about to receive is the real deal... but I'm going to post a bunch of pictures in different lighting and positions for you to check out. If it's not vintage.... time for a return! |

| I just received this in the mail today -- here are the pictures for the verdict! Under a light: Natural light: Floats, never sinks when submerged: Full figure: |

| I have never seen letters on the r2 saber? I don't see an epm mark. The one scott showed looks the same as this one. |

| Matt, in my opinion from the link Scott showed I think it is the original (real) non epm saber that Stef made comparisons with. |

| I'm gonna' agree with you. From the original pictures before I got it in hand, it looked a lot more lighter. Could of been the flash or lighting? |

| I saw an R2 Pop up on ebay. It seems ok but i would like some advices before to buy it. Dome is ok, sticker is a little bit dusty but i am ok with that ( i prefer a dusty one than a fake one). The saber has the epm. Thanks |

| I think your good on that one. The saber pic isn't really taken in a good lighting condition but it doesn't appear to be painted and it looks accurate mold wise with the epm on the handle. It does look darker than normal, but it appears to be that the picture was taken without lights on and in just natural lighting, so that may be why it looks darker than I am used to seeing in photos. |
