Heya!

It is Funny when I read a Description of a Supposed Mint Star Wars Vintage Figure in an Unplayed with Condition Featuring Stiff Limbs?! In fact I feel Personally that there are only a Handful of Vintage Figures that are Truly Stiff. Among them I would count C3P-0, Death Star Droid, Imperial Storm Trooper, The Ewoks- I have an Admiral Akbar who is pretty stiff- Rancor Keeper- Well Actually that is more than a Handful. But I guess what I am trying to say is that having a Vintage Star Wars Figure that is Truly Rigid- not loose- is very Hit and Miss!? My Collection for the most part is Entirely Mint- there are Figures that have been bought to replace some of the older ones but even they will occasionally have a slightly loose arm or leg? Would that be down to the Sonic Welding Process? I would Love to know more about this and how Vintage Star Wars Figures were put together? Is there any Factory Footage of this Technique in Manufacturing?

Russell, I moved this up from the Off Topic section.
I always thought the Death Star Droid is one of the most notorious figures for having loose limbs.
I have a very tight C-3PO and Han Solo big head. Both are minty mint and would suggest little or no play time. I've seen the expression 'unsnapped' used on some figures for sale.

Heya!

I’ve not heard of the expression “Un- snapped?” And I have only just learned of the expression “Un- cracked.” Both of my Death Star Droids are Very Stiff. I remember as a Child I did not want to sit Him down or move his arms about in case I snapped them. I never had a Han with the Large Head. I never really liked Him so I stuck with my Original Han. Dose your Han have white legs over painted with black? I knew a Kid a long time ago whose Han actually had Black Plastic Legs. I wonder which one would be rarest?

Painted leg, small head Han is more rare.

Cheers! Thank you for that! Is this because the other Han had a longer production run from 1982 onwards?

Well, the small head Han is more uncommon than big head Han, but would still not be considered rare.  Not sure why it is more rare, they are just a lot tougher to find.  Also tough to find in nice shape, as the paint on the legs is always worn a bit. Would be interesting to know why one of the factories did it. There was a claim that someone found a big head Han with painted legs, but was largely dismissed a a fake.

Heya!

Mmm- dose sound suspect!?

I Guess that would make my own Han Pretty Rare and Even More Valuable As He is Literally Mint! I Always Preferred the Small Head .Han although Han in Bespin is so Cool!

I am trying to locate a nice painted leg Han. I have a few really nice small/big head with the molded legs. I've always preferred small head Han, too. The head was a wee bit too small, yes. But, then Kenner went and made it way too big with their revision! Plus, he looks like he is worried or needs to relieve himself.

I think all of the Hans are cool, minus meatneck Carbonite Han and Bespin Han's gun choice. Not sure what Kenner was thinking in either situation. The carbonite block is fun, however.

Heya!

I remember Yes I remember seeing and then buying my Han in Carbonite.! I was Disappointed but I thought I might as well just to make things complete! Even as a Kid I was not that Impressed with Him and I was not sure about the Block of Carbonite? Little did I know how much he would be worth two decades later- actually almost three! Nobody knew how much these Figures were going to be Worth? Its so Ironic! When I was doing my Diploma in Art and Graphic Illustration a couple of Guys knew that I was interested in Star Wars and Figures and Sold me their Collections. They were not big- about thirty odd in one bag and about fifty or sixty in the other. They cost me about £50.00 $100.00 back in 1995. But I did very well out of it! I even got a Death Star Gunner that I saw not a couple months before being sold the price of one of the bags! I also had quite few Luke in Bespins with quite a few Variations but they were not in the best condition. Only the more Later POTF Ones were not played with. Or there more obscure ones like Greedo or Hammer Head. I got about Four Rebel Commandos and Hoth Soldiers out of the Deal and they were all Mint! I almost forgot I got another Emperors Royal Guard with His Staff! He hadn’t even been Played with! But what I was truly Stunned About was that both Collections nearly had all their Weapons and Accessories!? I mean if we look at the Cost of Accessorising a Star Wars Figure Today? It’s a bit Mad to Say the Least! It was amazing. It could Never Happen Again!

I would not know where to Buy a Mint Han Small Head And Painted Black Trousers? I have never seen another? And the Ones on the Bay are in shocking condition!

Small head han can have painted or black plastic cast legs, the large head I have never seen a painted black legs example, and if one surfaced I would be suspect of it given the boil/pop method is fairly easy on the more pliable plastic of hans solo.
