Hello all, Im new to this forum but im not new to Star Wars figures by a long shot. Im 49 and have always loved Star Wars.


As a child had had all the figures except the last 17. I dont remember having those, I was heading into high school at the time.

Anyways just a few months ago my parents passed and somehow good ole mom saved a bunch of my childhood figures!!!!!

Most are well used "loved" and have battle scares:-)

I did notice I have my original Blue Snaggle tooth!!!!!

Now I have a itch to get back the figures I had as a child :-)

Im also getting a small amount of money and I want to buy something a bit on the high end just to have it as a collectible and childhood memories.


I think Im 100% desided on a DT lukke. I do remember as a kid getting that mail away box for Christmas and having no figures in it.. :-( when mine came in I do remember playing with the Luke and the DT light saber.

To bad that figure was NOT in the ones mom saved.... I prob broke it....

I also do remember having two vinal cape jawas. As a kid I attached them to rockets and they were on fire :-( ........ stupid stupid me.....


Anyways Like I said i think im set on a DT luke,

The Jawa in not sure yet.....

Im also looking at a carded Vader and Boba Fett.

Vader and Fett were always my fav figures!!!!

YES I do have my original childhood Vader and Fett :-) They are a bit played with but heck.... they are mine :-)


Any words of advice what to do???

Would you guys pick a jawa, a carded Vader or a carded Fett?

I know thats a hard one to answer being the diff types of carded Vaders and Fetts, however over all what you would guys get?

prices are very high for those choices , dt luke 800ish carded luke and vader depends on the back . ebay is a good choice to feel for prices . you could always post a wtb thread (wanted to buy) . congrats on getting the itch again unfortunately for the new collector there are many things to watch out for , repro weapons repaints etc ... good luck have fun . welcome

Thanks! Yeah Ive seen the repo weapons listed etc etc.

My plan are to put some of my childhood figures back on reproduction card backs and have them autographed by the actors.

NOT for resale, heck there is no way my figure would ever pass as mint figures ahahaha like I said mine are well battle used figures :-)

Ive already got a re card backs from Vader and at the end of the month ill have a card back from Fett and in a few months a Chewbacca signed back.

Im having the backs signed "Finally retirement" as in putting my childhood figures back in cards like I got them in 1977 - 1980s

Once again if this is a forum where repros are frowned on this is only my 2nd post and im sorry in advance.

Repro - each to his own. Me, I don’t buy it, and don’t see the appeal (for me personally).

That said, I’ve always thought there are two types of people that buy Repro. Genuine Star Wars fans that love the figures, accessories and artwork on the cards but honestly can’t afford to shell out on a black Endor blaster, Princess Leia Blaster or Vader 12 back but still want something to display. Not everyone has the money to throw around that you see on FB. TBH if this is what they want to do I really don’t have a problem with that (probably in the minority) as long as they never sell it on.

IMO the problem really comes from the other camp. People who are deliberately deceiving people by trying to pass off Repro as the genuine article, or massively overcharging collectors for one reason only - to make money.

Sounds like you’re doing it for the right reasons. Piecing back together your childhood collection.

I started off buying repro weapons. The more I learned and the more I got into collecting the more I stayed away from reproduction weapons.
