I got an upgrade vintage Leia in the mail today, but turns out I also got a more varied figure than I suspected. With the COO Guide currently unavailable, I turned to another site that track variations and COOs, but this new Leia's COO was listed. It's "MADE IN HONG KONG" rather than just "HONG KONG" Here's a rundown of the difference, as I can tell...

First the MIHK Leia has a pale face, and what appears to me to be pale hands.
The HK Leia has a pink face and pink hands. Although, I have to be honest, the colors are very close. Still, I can tell a difference.

Hair and eye color hard to tell apart. I'm not sure if perhaps the MIHK just had a better spray, but her hair and eyes and belt are all definitely darker than the HK Leia. But the HK Leia's colors definitely appear weak, like it was the end of a run of paint. Is the black hair/belt Leia dead black, or just a really dark brown?

Finally are the capes. Under magnification, the HK Leia has a cape that is the same on both sides. Smooth to the touch, but with some irregular bumps that are impossible to feel. The MIHK Leia has that same near smooth texture on the outside of her cape, but the inside has a definite, but incredibly tiny, cross hatch pattern. So, I'm thinking they are V2 and V1 respectively, unless there's another variation.

I'm betting these COOs are almost interchangeable, but I'm curious if there are some definite consistent elements for each to pinpoint accuracy of accessories.

yes theyre all different when comparing coo's . taiwan , hong kong , made in hong kong , no coo all have special paint apps along with capes that can differ as well . very cool

Related question, and I hope this gets noticed, but is the black hair/belt Leia dead black or just a very dark brown? I've only found one direct comparison online, and it's hard to tell, but the black doesn't appear to be solid black.

I may be mistaken, but I think what most call the black hair/black belt Leia that is made by kenner is actually a very dark brown color that appears black. The glasslite Leia was actually painted with black paint on the hair and belt; and I don't think kenner used black on her hair and belt like glasslite did.
