Hi all,

Apologies if these have already been covered, but I couldn't find any info on this particular strain of Repo helmet.
I received an "original" luke Stormtrooper helmet today, so decided to do a few checks on it, as I know repos are getting better.
I started by comparing it on various sites to the known repos, and all looked good.
Then I compared it to a repo I was sold with a Luke from Ebay, about a month ago.
This worried me, as the repo has all the telltale signs of a genuine helmet, including the dimple on the top, the bar inside, and no triangle on the back.
I am now concerned whether or not the one I got today i genuine.
I would say there is a colour difference,and the black isn't as tidy on the repo.
Is there any other tests I can do to find out if the "original", is, in fact, original?

Mmmm that's a worry. Are you sure the 'repro' you bought is a reproduction? Got a link to the original purchase?

Just curious as it could be one is slightly closer to camera than the other, but are the helmets the same size? One appears to be larger than the other in every picture.

Sorry it might be the angle, but they appear to be almost identical. I'm gonna weigh them both later to see if that throws up any differences. The only differences I can really see is the repo is slightly yellower, and not so shiny, and the black isn't as tidy, as if it's been penned in.

With regards to the repro, I will try and find the purchase info and post it. It was sold as a repro , so unless someone made a huge mistake, I would say it's definitely a repro. I will locate the seller and see if they had more than one for sale.

So, I've found the purchase of the repro. It was from someone who looks like they deal in vintage toys, and they sold it as a "deluxe repro, made from injetion white plastic with painted details. The best you will find."

I think i'm pretty with happy with the one I received, it doesn't look like the detail is painted on.

It's scary how good these repros are getting though.

Justin just want to confirm the reproduction has the defined circle (EPM) inside the helmet?

I'll have to look when I get home tomorrow. Couldn't say for sure at the moment

So I've just had a look and the repro does have a defined circle inside, right at the top. And also the raised bar running up the inside back to just about where the line is on the outside
