Here are two pictures of my display stand I just completed. I would characterize it as modern. It will accommodate 96 figures, with the bottom wider shelves accommodating much more if wanted. I'm posting the pictures because it may give someone an idea if they were thinking of how to display their figures. Thanks

I noticed a rod going from the bottom table to the ceiling. My assumption is that this is to better support/distribute the weight, but is it for some other purpose (earthquake protection, aesthetic, etc.)? I'm just curious as I assumed the supports under the display could be designed or adapted to be sufficient.
Nice display and thanks for any feedback.

Thanks. The shelf unit with the brackets and rod is separate from the "stepped" display. This shelf along with others in the room were done long before I did my "stepped" display stand. The rods are for extra support. They are tied in to ceiling joists. The display stand I did in the pictures seems a lot smaller in these than what it actually is. I did it out of oak as well, so it is quite heavy, so the extra support the rod gives to the shelf was actually needed. My next step is to see if a local aquarium can do a four sided acrylic case to keep the dust out. I'm not a carpenter, but it was done by routing out channels along the back piece and fitting the shelves in the channels along with glue and screws.
