Nice oddity. Not sure how common it is to see a short pour that only effects the lettering. I haven't seen one before. I have seen short pour weapons where a part of the weapon didn't form at all (short barrel, no trigger guard, etc) but never seen this small of a detail. Makes me wonder if it is a short pour or if something else, like while the plastic was hot, part stuck to the mold and pulled away. Probably never know but neat to see.

Great pick-ups, Paul! Really like the artwork. Although I worry for Luke and Ben's safety in space with just the Landspeeder.

Won this auction a few days ago. Was pretty happy with the ending price, even though it's missing a couple parts. Already have the cannon on the way. Probably pick up the block and harpoon after Christmas. Too bad the battery compartment is shot, though.

| @dj121 - congrats on the ESB Snowspeeder, a great box Are the electronics totally shot, or can the terminals be cleaned up and got working again? @Calrissian_Charm - wow you got the die cast Takara Vader too! Welcome to the Vader Bowcsater Appreciation Club Love the die cast missile firing R2 as well, please add pics of it to the Japanese thread as we don't have this documented yet: http://www.imperialgunneryforum.com/t6433-the-japanese-vintage-star-wars-collecting-thread - hellhippie wrote:
- very cool Paul , with all that attention to detail they produced in their stuff in Japan youd think that they would have taken the time to put that thing in right side up . oh well still a very interesting and cool piece
Too right Bill, I thought I had a dodgy example but didn't mind as I got the pair really cheap incl postage. Then when I checked the SWCA I saw they had the droids badge upside down too. Must have been a few early Friday finishes in the factory back then Photo: http://theswca.com/index.php?action=disp_item&item_id=20951 |

Some times these button packages have the button kind of loose in them. If you spin the package and make it stop quickly or even sometimes tapping the side of it, you could see if the button moves.

@ArtooDetour I just found out about the Takara Vader a couple months ago doing a random Ebay search. The couple on there were loose and incomplete. I found this one and jumped on it. I'm not sure if the baggie with weapons is vintage or not. I hope not, actually. So that when I open it I don't have to feel guilty I'm thinking of sending these two of to CAS to have them cased for a nice display.

@ArtooDetour, As of right now, the electronics are completely shot. One of the contact tabs has broken off as well. I might try to clean them up as best I can and see if I can figure out a patch job for the broken tab. If I ever happen to come across a junk hull, I'll see if I can salvage the guts and rebuild this one.

I've been pretty busy with work/and yard clean up (leaves), but wanted to share my most recent pick ups. 1. No COO AT-AT Driver (Orange Logo) 2. No COO Chewy 3. Dark Blue Emblem Death Squad Commander (Hong Kong)

Thanks Guys- I'm a bit stubborn (buying graded figures) but I think I might turn over a new leaf and buy loose figures moving forward.

@ArtooDetour Darth Maul @Calrissian_Charm Nice Takara Vader! Now you and Paul can be Takara buddies and continue to add to the Japanese thread. @dj121 Looks nice, but I can't wait to see the finished snowspeeder. Make sure to take pics! @TheSchwartz Really nice pick-ups. I like the Orange Logo AT-AT Driver best. Great job, guys!

@Theschwartz - nice additions. That's cool you're thinking of getting some loose versions later - nothing like having these figures in hand and being able to pose them with their accerssories and the other figures @hellhippie - cool Bill you got a Ledy RL Threepio! One day when you get the bag for him you can pose him in pieces on Ledy Chewie's back, how cool would that look! Congrats too on the Yoda, very good-looking figure
