| Hi folks,
Been away on Holidays with the family to the Cairngorms – A stunning place to go. I've been there a few times since moving to Scotland, but every time we go back we are still in awe to see so much unspoilt landscape. Not to mention so much whisky – I couldn't resist buying up a few bottles.
Thanks for your comments on my Yoda and figures, I had a few parcels waiting for me when I returned, so I post some updates soon.
@TrappedTexan, Thanks again for all your links Bryan – I had look at mine and can see it is a Ledy axe. Thanks you for this. Hopefully, in between a crazy job and a crazier 13th month-old little guy, I can start contributing some new research & images.
Thank you too for the link to the Yoda focus (stunning. I hope you guys are all OK over in Texas –with Hurricane Harvey.
@Hellhippie, Bill yeah that what I am thinking – two Hong Kong factories
@TheSwartz, Thanks – Checking with Kellerman’s Book – This would be a 32-B. (I love your avatar photo!)
@DarthMatt – Thanks Matt, He was sold to me as C7-C8, I was gobsmacked when it came as it was mint. A tiny dent in the bubble, but I can live with that.
@ArtooDetour – Cheers Paul … I haven’t forgotten about your paperwork thread. I need to get those paper items uploaded for you… My bad.
@Broke – I bet you were excited… thankfully I am reading this way late – so I don’t have to wait till Wednesday and can scroll down to see what it was. Gobsmaked you can still get one of the playsets still mint and sealed.
@ArtooDetour – Paul those additions rock! I love how they are posed there… Small Head Han actually looks like he’s in the scene in ESB when he’s get a surprise from Darth and Fett. He has a look of “Oh shit, I’m had”.
Agree with you, small head Han is definitely better! Who’s the tall guy Next to Darth? Nice to see some more X-Wing army builders and the Tusken X-Wing really rocks!!! Don’t laugh too much, but back in the 90s when I was still a kid, I had some beater figures mixed in with a collection I bought locally. One of them was a busted head X-wing, and a dodgy Admiral Ackbar so I made a real poor attempt in making a Mon Calamari Y-wing pilot for my play scenes:
He looked alright from a distance though. He’s not for sale, but I’ll gladly donate him to your cause and pop in the post to you, if you want him.
What’s the story behind the book by Mark Bellomo – is TIG going to show any photos inside or give us the link to where we can buy this book? Was just double-taking at the photos, when it dawned on me that Bart is staring at me – never noticed him when looking earlier. Leia gun does really look cool.
@Hellhippie, Bill – nice variants. Your tip earlier about the bib having different sculpts has got me looking to see if I can expand my focus (of one mint of each character) to seeing if I can capture the variations too! Could you show us the back of the death star droid and if possible compare with a common version? I’m curious about the rivet.
@Broke – Some really nice pick-up. I never got round to getting the Land of the Jawas playset. It looks really cool. If you are planning to never sell on the playset, perhaps it doesn’t matter if you open it or not as it never going to be sold on. But for what it is worth, I opened my Dagobah playset back in the 90s and wish I hadn’t opened the bag or at least wish I did it neatly with a scissors, as the baggies now are wrecked. As everyone says – it is yours and up to you. The rest of the bounty looks to be super nice.
@Arohk Some nice Imperial army acquisitions – are you building squads for each?
@Broke – Looking at your shelf display, I still can’t believe how nice your White Tie is. Awesome
@Broke – Nice follow-up photo with the jawas and droids. Really cool . Agree with Bill the escape pod is epic.
@Machinegunn – Thanks Danny! And hope you are having a good summer too!
@ ArtooDetour – Loving the adverts, I really like how colourful the Harbert logo is. Did Harbert still produce under licence in ESB? The German “Hallo Bastel Fans” tickled me. I really dig the Helix advert. I have a mint Helix maths set (semi-circle case) and was inches close to getting the pencil Death Star pencil sharpener too but lost out. Are you aiming to put together a complete set of the weekly comics together?
@Broke – Some nice figures – they look really minty. Glad you’re genuinely enjoying setting-up the diorama… A little 13 month old resides in my old SW den these days. I notice you have the display tubes for the Blue Snaggletooth, are these still available on the web?
@TheSwartz – Agree with you there – The Snowtrooper is such a cool figure and yours is in great condition. How many AFA cased figures do you have now? As long as you are happy with how you want then displayed, I don’t think it’s a problem. It looks like you have some great lighting there to display them in, so they look nice.
My only problem with AFA graded stuff is that they can be inconsistent with the way they have graded my stuff in the past. When I was selling some AFA stuff to a dealer that specialised in AFA, he kept asking what dates was my stuff graded, as - according to him, old grades were worth less as they had become stricter in recent years. My biggest beef with them is that I spent a huge amount of money at the time (I think it was in 2002 or 2003 and £699) for an AFA 90/90/90 light blue Boba. I kept it locked away out of the light of years, only to find that it was a fake from Toy Toni. In way, I blame AFA for that as I trusted them to make a judgement on authenticity.
@Broke – Nice Speeder! I never get tired at looking at speeders, it was great in the 80s that they were so cool and yet relatively cheap than the medium ships, so you can have a couple of them for battles. My scout always was on the loosing side so my dad used a hot nail (blow torch) to secure his head back on for me. Heath and safety in the 80s... puh.
@TheSwartz – Nice Autograph – I have an ESB comic from 1995 that I think I bought in Forbidden Planet Store that has near enough the same Autograph writing and style. The shop told me that he used to write his autographs like that because of he wanted to make sure people knew it was him not James Earl Jones.
Great seeing your stuff guys! |

| @CraigT, awesome review bro Love the Ackbar X Wing guy and I'd be honoured to have him join my squadron of X Wing Pilot customs - have 5 atm and yours would be a most welcome addition! The tall figure in my last post is from Doctor Who 6" inch figures line, it's the 8th Doctor as played by Paul McGann. Not sure if Harbert carried on with ESB The Mark Bellomo book is available online and packed with quality action figure photos! It also has lots of background info on the characters. It's more aimed at entry level collectors imo than seasoned but that's not to say a seasoned collector still can't ogle the great pics. That's cool you have a Helix Maths set I think the ad I showed is funny because it offers the Death Star sharpener as a runners up prize when nowadays it's probably the most famous and desired stationery item there is. And yes, I'm, attempting a full run of the UK SW Weekly comics. Will see after if I continue with ESB and ROTJ but I already have a fair few of those too. Thanks again for the comments, looking forward to seeing your latest additions |

| More incoming. Mostly today: I have the cape for Leia coming in today also. I really need 2 authentic Leia guns And this one isn't Star Wars but it's from The Black Hole by Disney and one of the hardest figures to find. It's the Humanoid and it's authentic. ACTUALLY IF ANYONE CAN HELP WITH WEAPONS FOR THESE PLEASE PM ME. Thank you |

| CRAIGT: Welcome Back, hope you enjoyed holiday with the family. I'm sure you picked up some great Whiskey. I appreciate your opinion on cased AFA figures, and was sorry to hear of your experience with the light blue Boba. I would be livid. I hear what you are saying about the inconsistency of AFA grades. I tend to be fairly picky when it comes to buying figures, and sometimes I shake my head wondering how certain figures earned their respective grades. I do like the look of the cases and the protection they offer. I have a finished basement and now that we have some space (we moved to our current house 2 years ago) I plan to purchase a nice display case. My figures are currently in a large TV stand (on shelves) behind glass doors and i have LED lighting in there at the moment (I admit this may sound strange). I have the following Graded Figures: AFA 85 Storm Trooper HK AFA 85+ Snow Trooper HK AFA 80+ Leia ANH TW AFA 85 Vader HK AFA 80+ Farmboy Luke TW AFA 85 Boba TW AFA 85+ Jawa dark brown stitch HK AFA 80 MOC 20 BACK-I Raider AFA 90 Luke Jedi Knight blue saber snap cape AFA 90 Leia Combat poncho pink face pale hands no coo AFA 95 Dianoga (great price) All purchased within this year. When I get the new display case I will be sure to post pictures. ArtooDetour- Your X wing pilot customs are awesome, thanks for sharing! |

| Great pickups everyone. Broke that humanoid figure is a great pickup. It will be hard to find the cape and boots but the figure itself is a heck of a find. |

| Nice looking pickups Craig, must be a nice feeling grabbing hold of SW stuff again! Those mocs are sweet and still display great minus the pops. It's good a lot of mocs survived without pops and name tags, cut cards too, and showed that kids were eager to send off for the offers. |

Model Trem Darth Vader with Kenner styled limbs. This model Trem version for Vader is so beautifully made. Also an updated group photo of my current Trem variants for Darth Vader -Fixed head -Movable head (most common Trem Vader) -Kenner styled limbs |
