...a Mexican mix up? Yoda Empty
PostSubject: ...a Mexican mix up? Yoda   ...a Mexican mix up? Yoda I_icon_minitimeWed Oct 26, 2016 12:06 pm

Hey Guys, not posted for a while but I spotted and bought this on eBay the other day thinking, "aha!, green paint on the cane, dark green head, must be a Ledy!"

... well it came through and now I'm not sure about the accessories, I think it might be a mix.

The figure itself I'm pretty sure is Ledy. From a previous ledy guide and associated coo pictures it matches #6, the 'regular' Ledy which, from the text says is uniqely Ledy (althought the picture says kenner/ledy so I'm not sure what happened there). Also it has the darker green paint and the cape is stuck to it too.

The cape I'm pretty sure is Ledy too, it has the tacky, darker green paint on it too which is a good sign.

But that's where my knowledge ends and I need your help!

Belt - I thought all Ledy belts had an EPM in the middle of the saber - am I wrong?

Cane - I thought all Ledy canes had an EPM on the reverse side of the handle - am I wrong?

Snake - I thought all Ledy figures came with brown snakes - am I wrong?

Cape comparison shot (??? on left, two on right are Kenner brown snake variants with the lighter kenner cape color):

Accessories shots (cane with green paint):

The figure is ledy for sure. Remember these also came on made in mexico cardbacks so were released in the usa and some came with kenner accessories. This could mean the accessory itself isn't ledy. Your belt for instance is not a ledy. The cane missing the epm I think may also not be. I have never heard of an orange ledy snake either. This could have been packed though with kenner accessories or mixed up by a kid at some point in its life.

Thanks for your insight Bryan, much appreciated. Actually I didn't know there were "made in Mexico" Yodas sold in the USA. Does that mean they were packaged in Mexico and labelled Lili Ledy? or, given you mention they could have kenner accessories, then we're they package in the USA using Mexican figures but kenner accessories and a kenner label?
The ledy guide to yoda does say there were cross-over coo's but fails to mention whether that's HK coo kenner figures sold in mexico or no coo mexican figures sold in the USA, but I guess you answered that one for me.

TBH, given the years that have gone by it's more likely that it's been mixed up by a kid or collector in its life as some point, but I will ask the seller and try to dig up some history.

Thanks again Bryan! and I'd be grateful of any other observations from any other Ledy experts out there!

Cheers,
Mat
