I might try to catch this. Never watched more than a couple of pieces of episodes of the walking dead. For some reason I never got into the whole monster thing and especially Zombies. Seems they are in everything now days. Even some of the video games like red dead redemption (a western) have zombie levels. Truthfully not a huge fan of horror stuff, other than the chickenshack house of horror.

It goes without saying that I will be all over the new series likes maggots on a festering corpse

My wife and I are HUGE fans of the regular series and I even collect the figures

You should really try to watch the series from the start - it's just one of those shows that must be watched in order

I know zombies are everywhere these days but The Walking Dead was a huge part of the "current craze" getting started .

Zombies are almost secondary in the series - It has a great story and fantastic acting . Many powerful moments and things happen that really make you consider what you would do if in a similar situation . It wouldn't have to be a zombie apocalypse to bring the world to a similar state

I have had my heart ripped out many times from story lines and/or acting performances ... I have seen my wife literally break down bawling when a certain cast member died

My mother HATES any kind of horror movie but I convinced her to watch the 1st episode and she was hooked . When the scenes get a little too gross for her she just turns her head

I can't stand to see real life gore but love special effects

I am just amazed how the guys behind the scenes can make fake gore look better then real gore with gelatin , corn syrup , latex and some red food coloring

Give it a shot man , if you can get past the zombies and gore , you'll love it

I couldn't say it better then the horror king himself , I seen some pics of the new Zombies for the walking dead as well they look really good.

Bryan If you check out AMC there are all kinds of cool things to see to sort of ease you into the whole zombie craze lol.

Since I am bored at work today I figured I would hang out here on TIG for a bit. This has let me revisit threads today that I have been meaning to get to like this one. Did anybody watch the show? Did it live up to expectations? I think I will be watching the original series in the future (but it will have to be after I start in on Dr Who).

I wouldn't say it has the same character appeal as the regular series , basically no real "likeable" characters so far for me but the story and acting is good .


You should look into streaming Netflix Bryan . It's only $10 or so a month and there is a ton of shit to watch . All the newer episodes of Dr Who and the 1st 4 seasons of the walking dead too . Not to mention tons of other great sci fi - All series of Star Trek , Firefly , The X-Files etc , etc ...

I think this is a pretty cool show and gives a pretty good idea of how fast the whole thing really spread. The Walking Dead never really said much about that part.

I am a horror fan for sure. The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead are two of my favorite shows on TV at the moment. Really looking forward to TWD's return in February. For anyone who hasn't seen either show I highly recommend them to you, they aren't cheesy at all, they are really done quite well. The acting in both series is really good and the story lines are very well written. There's really never a dull moment in either series in my opinion. I definitely give them both 3 thumbs up.

Just finished the fear the walking dead series and yes i want more...its fresh exciting and still just the begining of the appocalpyse. Awesome
