Imperial Gunner / AT-ST Driver combo Empty
PostSubject: Imperial Gunner / AT-ST Driver combo   Imperial Gunner / AT-ST Driver combo I_icon_minitimeSat Mar 12, 2016 3:28 am

Hi , I hope you can help. I started collecting vintage figures about 25 years ago and then stopped for several years but now got back into it again. I have now decided to catalogue my collection.
I bought a huge collection 25 years ago, at this time variants were not really looked for like they are today. I've since realised I have a Tri-logo Boba fett that had really cheered me up,  and the fake rocket firing is not as much of a fake as I first thought. These were sort of dismissed until very recently.

Another figure I dismissed ( I can already hear everyone saying, and so should you dismiss it!) was an Imperial gunner with an AT-ST head on it. Only now am I questioning it because it's in almost mint condition and I don't really know how someone could do this without damaging the figure.

I'm after any help with either laughing at me for asking this absurd question, maybe explaining how somebody could do this without damaging the figure, or by shedding any light on strange figures in this wonderful weird world of vintage collecting.

Whatever the answer it's going to stay in my collection because I quite like it.

Thank you in advance, Alan

rocket firing fetts are extremely rare , tri logo bobas are not and didn't come with a firing mechanism . all have fixed rockets . odds are EXREMELY high you have a bootleg rocket firing fett or the legit score of a lifetime . head swaps are quite common and im sure some were done at the factory as well

Yes head swaps on latter figures ( neck is part of the torso ) are 'common' not sure I've ever seen a factory sealed example.

Thank you very much for your help. Just a bootleg Boba unfortunately.
As for the head swap, although it looks cool, I would rather have kept the Imperial Gunner Smile

Thank you once again and so glad I found this website, you guys are awesome.

Sounds most likely as a head swap. These weren't hard to do back when these figures were new and the plastic still had some give. Even now it isn't that hard, but is easier if you boil some water and dunk the head for a bit.

The fett sounds intriguing. Are you saying the tri logo fett has a removable rocket? This is not unheard of but is not common. I have seen several where they missed being welded in place and could be removed. Rocket gets were being customized around that time by individuals as well as the earth toy mall had a kit they sold back then of a fett back with a rocket and spring so you could pry open a fett and put that into place. (The earth kits may have been a bit later but it was around that early to mid 90s time frame).

Pics old be nice. Very Happy
