Boba Fett - Information Needed Empty
PostSubject: Boba Fett - Information Needed   Boba Fett - Information Needed I_icon_minitimeThu Mar 03, 2016 9:45 pm

Hi all

Really sorry I have been away so long. I have been busy selling my house which has been a long process, stressful as fcuk and a time gobbler !!!

All sold now and moving on which is great !!

Whilst cleaning out my shit I came across this little guy again. I know I have posted some years ago but I am wanting to list him for sale and I would like to know if anyone had knowledge of his origin?

He has rubber molded arms, legs and head. The body is solid and may be original (??) and is certainly not rubber. I would say he is a home made job but I have never seen another like this. From memory I have had him at least 6-9 years and I think he came off ebay in a bulk buy but maybe as a stand alone figure. My memory isnt so great on this? Interested on comments on the on the rocket and the mark as indicated and the fact that he has no visible leg markings (may jest be a crude mold).

I will obviously not list him as anything other than he is ... but I was really hoping someone has seen one before. Aussiejames has seen him in the flesh (rubber) but I don't recall if we established his origin or if his torso was an original or copy???

I guess for a Fett collector it may be a nice curiosity?? Any help greatly appreciated. I will probably list myself on the "Watch Out" section when he is up although I am sure it is long lost prototype, first shot, owned by George Lucas and originally bought by him from an employee of the Ledy factory  Laughing

ANY information on where this guy came from or if a heap were made would be GREATLY appreciated

I don't know what it is, but I want one. Probably nothing more than a custom but still a neat curiosity. If you list it up on eBay shoot me a pm so I can at least get a chance.

Hey bud good to see you hear again, Nice to hear the house sold that's a load off your plate. As far as the Fett I vaguely remember him I did however remember a place I was looking at a while ago that showed a RF proto type not saying that is one but the colour is pretty close and the scar and no holes in the feet not something that could be easily faked in my opinion without having the exact same plastic. Now that being said it could also be a Fett that was stripped using a chemical which would explain the rubbery arms as I have had that happen with other customs but the feet and scar keep making me wonder.

Here is a link to the proto type one I found unfortunitly they don't show the bottom of the feet.

Sorry should have mentioned.

The reason I think its a mold and re pour is that he is a wee bit smaller than a normal fett.

Certainly not stripped IMO ... maybe the torso?

That may be possible, but I don't know if a 3d printer would have the mold lines on the legs and across the feet like that. That is a pretty small detail to try to print and why even print it? I am curious on the amount it is smaller than a normal fett. Chopper do you have a regular fett? If so can we get side by side pics on a sheet of notebook paper or something else that has lines across it to determine they are on the same line at one point and not the other. If it is possible the torso is an original that was stripped and the rest is a recast it would also help to measure just the torso to see if they are identical or different. I have no inkling that this is a prototype as by the time they got to the filled slots they had coo markings in the cavity. Even some rocket fetts have the coo markings so I don't believe they would have deleted them to start over for a solid pack. There are fetts that have a small indent like the one on yours that are production and it is thought maybe the seal for the slot wasn't fully covered so there was some shrinkage that caused this, that would further make me think the torso may be production and the rest not. Honestly the limbs look like a poon fett limbs and the rubbery feel fits with that if someone did a boil and pop.

Boba Fett - Information Needed Pack_i10

Here is a picture of just a few production ones with those indents. The pic is not mine and was originally in this thread:http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1126711-6/

There were no 3D printers back when I bought this !!!

It has been cast from a mold for sure ... but why has no one seen any others, that's the question that stumps me the most.

Unfortunately it does scream POOOOOON to me.

That's why I was curious if the torso was also smaller than a normal fett. The rubbery limbs and look of them fit a poon fett to me. The torso may be real and stripped or also recast, but if recast it makes you wonder why?

For sure an original torso IMO.

But why are there not many more .. unlike Poon to do just one. We may have another shady fuck in the house !

I was thinking it was a pre internet Toyshop magazine thing. http://www.sandcrawler.com/webpages/chrisgscrapbook/ But why go through all that effort and forget the rocket firing part Laughing Laughing

I know this one is pre 3D printing but to get the detail/resolution it requires a real high end/high cost machine. The limbs are not out of printable material etc.

Get a comparison picture with a production figure up
