Some of you may have heard of this already, but there is a little girl named Safyre who is wishing for Christmas cards as presents this year. Her story is quite sad in that she lost her parents and siblings to an arson fire two years ago and has been left with severe burns and amputated limbs because of it.
I am going to send her a card because it’s easy enough to do, but the more cards the better! If anyone else wants to participate and send her a Christmas card (and this is a fantastic opportunity to indoctrinate a young little person into Star Wars... bwahahahah!), her aunt set up a P.O. box for her at:

That's terrible.. I just read the story. I have a little time before work tomorrow for an x-mas card run -- the local pharmacy should have something SW related. I'll post a pic.

As far as the donation.. I'm in. I was leaning toward St. Jude this year but I hadn't heard this story yet.

I am on it. Will pick up a card sometime this weekend and get it out. Should make it before Christmas to New York from Texas, but you never know with USPS.

Man, she looks happy with all of that stuff she received.

As a side note, I was discussing this with my buddy and we went to a few different stores to find a SW card. We ended up piecing out a little goodie bag and a non-SW card that we split the cost of:



The Yoda thing is really cool.. you push the top down and he shows up in force ghost form giving out his inspirational quotes.

I saw this the other day at work, I had to stop reading as it made me start to cry I could feel myself welling up ( I know I know I'm a big softy). I hope the person who started the fire gets what is due to him.
I've sent a card only hope it gets there in time.

I plan to send something for such a brave little girl, it may not quite make it for Christmas, but she will get it and that's the main thing, very moving story

This inspired me to do a little more donating than just clothes this year -- specifically toy drives/ toys for tots.

I ended up heading to Toys 'R' Us in an outlet mall to spend another hundred on $3-8 items of all sorts (Star Wars, Marvel, Thomas the Tank Engine, Pokemon, etc.) to be donated locally. It's a little boy heavy but I couldn't help it
