Okay I consider myself a true vintage snob. No modern stuff outside of a gift given from the family. But my collection is 100% vintage.
However I found myself at the store today to get BB-8. I just couldn't resist!
So who's gotten what?

Is this the one you posted a video of here: http://www.imperialgunneryforum.com/t7069p75-star-wars-episode-vii-news-gossip-teaser-trailer-on-page-3
Does it work as well as the video makes it seem? I will admit, I buy stuff I like. I collect more toy lines than most and have about seven different lines going, none of which are modern Star Wars though I have gotten a piece or two as gifts and bought a couple myself (but not collect as in completion of the line) However that video made me want this. I know it was a commercial type video so it may not work as well in the real world as it does there. I was fooled into getting modern with the potf 2 stuff so I will never "collect" modern again, but I am not against buying something that appeals to me.

I thought there was some cool-looking stuff and my son's eyes lit up when he saw it as well. Even the missus was checking out some of the clothing lines for him He'll definitely be getting some cool pressies this year off Santa.
I probably won't get much for me but I really like the Kylo Ren 6" Black Series figure so I think I'll get that to go with a couple of other Black Series figs I already have.
I'd already posted about the leaked Lego pics in the Tosche section a couple of weeks back and now it looks like they're all good to go. So If Detour Jnr doesn't beat me to it I'd also like the Poe Dameron X-Wing Fighter

First modern purchase in 16 years... Found these two at a Kohl's and for $20, what the hell?

Was never going to do midnight madness as (so I thought!) the nearest store to me was about 3 1/2hrs drive and I had work the next day. So, midnight the next day I was out in my car and had to go to Tesco (actually I didn't have to it could have waited until the morning but I was curious). Anyway, went to the TFA display, full of mashups, lego, hot wheels and some 3.75 figures. An employee (who clearly is only allowed out at night and probably only for a few hours; think of an American janitor in a horror movie) came over and said it was last night when the craziest happened at the stock went. Apparently there were 250 people outside of Smyths (which is odd as it is about 5 miles away from Tesco but you can never tell what strange powers these janitors have) and they cleaned the stock out first then came to Tesco. He asked which one I wanted (Phasma and Ren) and they weren't there. I got Poe and TFP. There were Vader and Luke (pegwarmers?) captain something or other, first order trooper, ray and finn. There was 1 Fett with armour but I don't want to pay an extra £6 for little benefit. However, there were boxes everywhere and this employee wouldn't let me go until he opened all of the boxes (which clearly said hot wheels, mashups...... on the side.... but hey he had a knife and was creepy so I obliged). So I left £20 worse off. Woke up in the morning and thought... right off to stores again to find the two I want. Tried.... ASDA 1 - same as Tesco ASDA 2 - nothing but cups, cuddly things and shit. Sainsburys 1 - a couple of TFP, Vader and Luke (still my favourite for pegwarmers). Picked up 4 or so Black Series they were selling off Argos - what a shit system. No way was I going to ask for them to bring them out for me to inspect. I did get a 15" Fett for £15, sabine in a two pack, a 31 page TFA catalogue with some discount vouchers and a free Kylo Ren poster Smyths - mashups, lego and Finn ASDA living - I gave in and bought 1st order ST and the flametrooper. Had Vader and Luke (still think they're pegwarmers) and possibly Finn Argos 2 - nothing on display so I left Sainsburys 2 - Disney infinity and nothing else. FF doesn't happen in Sainsburys2. They're whole Toy aisle is only about 8 ft wide
In most of these stores were guys who looked unwashed, awake for 3 days, and were hunting SW items. I really hoped I didn't look like that.
So, I'm now £100 or so worse off. Did I enjoy it. Overall yes. Yes there are criticisms of the product but I'll be tearing the fuckers open when I can display all (24 according to Argos catalogue) of them. What I don't like is I've found out the Fett is the same as the one in the mission series. How many have/will just be repacks? If I spent £16 on the Fett at Tesco I'd be well pissed. Was it nice seeing SW FS? Yes it was. Would have preferred more items, and it didn't match the photos I see online of the early 80s (remember we were so poor I only went to a toy store once so have no memory of them really). However, the biggest buzz I got was a reminder that the new film is only 100 or so days away. If that was the purpose of the toys then it did it for me.
And since then I also got Kylo Ren and possibly Captain Phasma, just waiting for confirmation of the shiny dudette.

I picked up my first TFA figure yesterday, the 6" Black Series Kylo Ren. I really enjoy the detail and poseability of the 6" figures, so I figured adding the new 'bad guy' would be a good addition. I'm definitely not disappointed.

Nice stuff, guys! Things have been thin on the ground locally. I finally picked up a 6" Black Series Kylo Ren the other day and I really want to get one of the First Order Stormtroopers as well. When series 2 comes out I'd like to get Captain Phasma and the TIE Pilot.

I went to a huge labor day flea market in deep country Virginia. Lo and behold there was a vendor there that went to Force Friday (the Friday of LBW) that had the entire Wave 1 Black Series for retail ($18-20).
I ended up buying the entire wave to bring back home and sell it to my friends and co-workers who were interested.
The next day (still at the flea market), I decided to visit the vendor again as a "what if" moment, and he had ANOTHER set of the first wave, which I again bought to flip for a profit.
Then I picked up the Disney Elite Captain Phasma, which I still have, on top of a Black Series Kylo Ren and Finn, and carded Capt. Phasma.

I wouldn't consider myself a vintage snob at all. I have probably close to 300 modern figures. Of course I played with the figures from POTF2 all the way up to Revenge of the Sith. I will be picking up some TFA toys.
Nothing currently interests me too much... except for 3/4" Poe's Xwing. I refuse to pay scalper prices so still looking for that one.

First up I'm far from a vintage snob, I just like to buy select modern items (Lego/Sideshow/Hot Toys and any modern Bossk) I have not brought anything yet, I have no real desire to buy anything either but that might change when I've seen the film. The only thing I've liked the look of is the app controlled BB-8 but knowing me I would get bored of that in 10 minutes.

Clearly I spoke too soon. I was in my local grocery this morning doing the weekly shopping when I decided on a whim to check the toy isle again to see if I could find the x-wing. Well no such luck. But behind the First Order Ties sat Ren and Phasma. I am not sure if they fell down there from the pegs above or if some kid or adult hid them there, hoping to come back and get them. Regardless, because of the buy 2 get one free sale they were having I grabbed em... and the only other figure left on the pegs.

I bought the first series of 6" figures and some of the vehicles. The 3 3/4" figures are hard to find right now. Eventually they will be everywhere so I am not too worried.
