| Just seen that "TIG Reputation" was renamed to "Gentleman Powers". Was it the "dispute" in the "*** TIG DETAIL GAME PRIZE WINNING SUMMER EDITION! Now Started!***"-thread that led to it? Anyway it's a great idea!!! |

| It's true that TIG has always had a reputation for 'gentlemanly' behaviour... Short TIG history lesson...Did you know that back in the old days TIG began life as 'TIB' ... The Imperial Bakery! TIBThe owner, Jonathon Corndrake Ragusa - and his team, built several high street bakeries and even managed a delivery service! Unfortunately TIB didn't have a good ring to it. In fact it was a completely shit name. In addition to this, far too many repro buns and fake loaves were appearing on the market. The situation came to a head when fake MOCs (Mouldy Old Cakes) were created by a rival baker known as Toast Toni. Time for some gentlemanly conduct.... ... and rightly so, for The Imperial Gunnery (TIG) was born !! Yay! (this would've been in Victorian or Edwardian times, we can't remember exactly). TIG quickly established itself as a spanking good resource to assist gentlemen (and real / or not real ladies) in choosing wisely the biggest and best guns on the market! TIG gentlemen try to hold steady an original blaster for the photographer to include in the latest TIG pamphlet. The internet hadn't been invented, so TIG's first 'reproduction elephant gun guide' was originally published in pamphlet format. The pamphlet identified several original and repro weapons that were available at the time. Collectors were encouraged not to try the 'Drop Test' unless they were wearing protective clothing. A TIG gentleman member of staff inspects EPMs on a suspected repro. Mindless VandalismEvil graders arrived on the scene in 1896, making TIG's task even harder! Early example of a U-Grade. The AFA (awful fking arses) U-Grave. Today, TIG has modernised and embraced the wonders of the interweb and social telegraphy! Gone are the days of those mouldy old bakers and stuffy gun botherers! Today, your modern TIG gentleman will look more like this... |

| Just a question about TIG Gentleman Powers:
To date someone's Gentleman Powers increase by the positive votes received.
I wonder if the Gentleman Powers of the member who gives the positive vote shouldn't increase also?
I think it's gentleman like to publicly say that another member's work/statement/... is great/reputable/respectable/...!
Gentlemen, what do you think?

Gentlemen, what do you think?
That's entirely correct. And it is gentleman's nature not to expect anything back for his noble behaviour. . |

And it is gentleman's nature not to expect anything back for his noble behaviour. . Good point Marco! My initial thought was that it shouldn't be worth the same to vote positive as to receive a positive vote. Maybe 1 point for voting and 5 or even 10 for receiving a vote. To make clear that it's much more honourable to post something that brings the TIG community forward or just make someone else laugh or whatever ... than just to click on "like"! But I agree with you as this could lead to an inflationary use of positive votes just to increase TIG Gentleman Powers. So probably we should leave it as it is. |
