I have a few figures that I've never quite been able to place, figures that show certain traits with things like Poch and PBP, but seem to also go against the grain a little, and I've always wondered about them. So anyway I figured I probably wasn't the only one with stuff like this in there collection so I thought a thread where you can post all your oddball figures and see if anyone can shed any light on them.

AT-AT Driver

I have had this AT-AT Driver for years and it's always kind of bothered me. The figure is in great shape but has no emblems on it's head, whether this is a factory error or wether they have been removed is anyones guess, but that's not the issue here. Firstly it's a no COO figure and was bought in the U.K.

The plastic on the figure has lots of imperfections and bubbles which are also present in the white paint (not sure if it's bubbles in the paint or paint over the bubble in the plastic which can be seen on the arm.

There are melt marks present on his arse

Also, the black paint applied to the head is notably glossy rather than the usual matte finish and it is also very poorly applied, going over all the lines.

Great idea for a thread Alex.

Unfortunately I don't have any suggestions for your AT-AT Driver (other than a Friday afternoon special  :cool laugh: ). However, I'm sure one of the poch / PBP experts will chime in.
There is a thread somewhere, where Wolff indicated that bubbles in the plastic can be the result of a worn mold. I have an IG-88 which has lots of bubbles on the head and limbs.

Hey Alex! You have a very cool figure there Wink

,I would say you have a nice factory error figure.

The large and moved spry masks, bubbles on plastic and paint, melt marks and unpainted parts are common in regular Kenner figures and not exclusive to PBP/Poch figures.

-The PBP AT-AT Driver in the ROTJ era have a Made in+smooth deleted COO, Hard/high detailed  torso and different paint scheme.
-The PBP AT-AT Driver in the ESB(Poch) era have a Made in Hong Kong COO and totally different and Unique paint scheme.

I am not a PBP expert but , i would say you can discount your figure as a Spanish production , but i guess i could be wrong....

Hope this helps

Cheers

Javi

I actually bought this figure as a factory error, it's just after a while it started to look odd against the others I had. Cheers for the input  Smile

Alex...you see I haven't marked that COO as PBP:

...so I am with Javi. No PBP.... Very Happy

Also: the material is totally wrong.

I will check mine later for the gloss paint, but black dull and glaossy can be found on nearly every figure produced with black paint applied.

Cheers Wolff,

I too have several different figures featuring both glossy and matte paint aps. It just seemed different on this figure because of it's sloppy application.

Cheers for the input  Smile
